Dungeon Siege 2, first minutes experience

The title pretty much explains it. I only tried DS2 for a couple of minutes, and I must say I am pleased with it so far. Graphics could be better, but they are good enough for my liking. Game runs smoothly becasue of that :P, and looks good. Sound effects are good too and so is playability. Combat goes about fast and is fun (at least the first ones hehe). Introductory cinematics describe what happened and leads right to the beginning of the game and into your character. Would have liked a bit more customization options for the character, but well.

Here are some pics

First battle encounter

WoW..............yes WoW indeed!:P

Well after much struggling I finally made it to the highest lvl (so far) in World of Warcraft, that is lvl 60. Yay me! :) Anyway that has give me access to some of the highest dungeons and instances in the game. Just last night I participated in a raid with my guild, for those that know what the hell I`m talking about :P, in Molten Core. Was some intense experience, with nearly 40 players teamed up fighting their way down (those kind of places MUST be played with that amount of characters or otherwise all die very fast).

Anyway we managed to take out one of the bosses in there, Lucifron that is. Here`s a pic of it, on our glory time, with one of the drops it left. NOTE: Don`t mind the odd border, for some unknown reason the screenshot ended that way.:P

On other news, I got Dungeon Siege 2! Will try it asap and let you know what I think.

God Save the Queen!

That is the name of the band I went to see tonight. Actually since it`s an Argentinian band it would be Dios Salve a la Reina (tribute to Queen of course). The show was amazing, 2 hours long and they played quite a good amount of Queen`s best. What was more impressing was that the guy that performed Freddy Mercury`s part was incredibly identical to him, and I was just mere metres away from him. When he first entered stage all the audience went wow

I really enjoyed the show. The band has performed in other countries too, including the UK and they are scheduled to go back there soon.

For more info here is the official site. Doesn`t have so much info cause it`s pretty new, but you can take a look at some pics.

Absence and return

Some of you might have noticed my prolonged absence in GS. My apologies to all of you guys. I`ve been busy with some personal stuff here (and WoW of course :P). Anyway I`m looking forward to return to GS as usual. I`m going to try to get up to date with what has been going around here and check some of the nearly 20 unread messages in the mailbox! :P

Well hope to see you around more often from now on.

By the way. I`ve reached lvl 56 with my warlock in WoW. Lvl 60 is almost there!:D

San Antonio Champions!!

Last night then NBA finals 2005, finally came to and end and victory was for San Antonio Spurs!:) They were by far the best team, with a very solid defence and a whole bunch of tremendous players. Tim Duncan was chosen MVP, but they all really did a great job throught the entire season. I was impressed to see the impact that the match had here (Argentina). A lot of people were in front of the TV following the match, specially for the presence of Manu Ginobili. Fortunately it had a happy ending, at least for us. So congratulations for the whole SA team! :D

River 1 vs. Gimnasia 2

Not much to say here. River obviously has his mind focus on the Libertadores Cup. Hence the reason why a lot of alternative players played in yesterday`s match.

It started promising for River when at the 10th min. Almerares scored the first one for the "millionaires". However that was all there was going to be for River. At the 2nd half, Vargas and San Esteban sentenced the 2-1 for Gimnasia and the final goodbye of River from the fight for the local tournament.

Velez, current leader won its match 3-0 to Argentinos and Estudiantes manged to tie with Boca.

Castroman of Velez celebrates the first goal of his team.

Standings after 15 matches:

Velez 32
Estudiantes 29
Racing 28
Arsenal 26
River 23

The 2 of June River will face Banfield for the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. Banfield had been doing a great campaign so far winning it`s last 3 matches (Libertadores and Clausura) and scoring 3 goals in each one, so it will be really tough for River.

River 1 vs. Boca 2

Things didn`t come out as River expected in this match. Throughout the entire game River showed patience and control of the ball and was definetely the one that played better. But goals are done and not deserved and in this case Boca managed to score twice.

Delgado and the fatal free-kick

First goal came at the after a well designed play from Boca that left Guillermo Barros Schelotto free to kick the ball to the net after a header-pass from Palermo. Right at the beginning of the 2nd half River tid the game with a shooter from Lucho Gonzalez (3 min.). The game at that point was open for any team, River playing slightly better tho. However Boca thanks to the experience of a lot of their players managed to keep River from scoring. Finally near the 40th min. came a free kick for Boca that Delgado shot perfectly and sentenced the 2-1.

Small pic of one section of Boca`s stadium

With this result and the victories of the leading teams River is now far Hawai from the top positions and with only 5 matches left the tournament is almost lost.

Standings after 14 matches:

Velez 29
Estudiantes 28
Racing 27
River 23
Rosario Central 23

River 0 vs. Olimpo 2

Well things can`t go worse for River right now. Not only it lost against Olimpo, but there is also a personal "fight" going on between River`s defendants, Ameli and Tuzzio. A real shame. Olimpo`s first goal came through a non-existant penalty, finally scored by Galvan how also scored the 2nd goal at the 19th min of the 2nd period.

Galvan, from Olimpo, was last Saturday`s scorer

Coach Astrada will have to have a serious talk with the players if he doesn`t want this to become some major issue, specially with Ameli and Tuzzio (if he hasn`t already). Velez and Racing won their matches and therefore are the new leaders of the tournament.

The 17th River will have the first match in the best 16 of the Copa Libertadores against LDU (Quito, Ecuador) and next Sunday it will be the great "clasico" Boca-River. Both tams are not doing so well lately but that doesn`t mean it`s not going to be a show.

Standings after 13 matches:

Velez 26
Racing 26
Estudiantes 25
River 23
Rosario Central 22

River 1 vs. San Lorenzo 3

This must have been one of the worst matches I`ve seen River played. Once again the defence was the problem, above all. River started winning just like many other ocassions, with a goal from Victor Zapata at the 8th min., however that was going to be all. German Herrera, the man of the match, scored the equalizing goal for San Lorenzo at the 22nd min.

Herrera screams the first goal for San Lorenzo

The 2nd half showed more of San Lorenzo and nothing of River. At the 36th min Zabaleta and at the 44th after the red card for Gandolfi, Coudet (former River Plate player), sentenced the 3-1 for the winners. It was a very poor match for River and I hope it won`t be repeated. One curious data is that San Lorenzo won only 2 matches so far in the tournament and those 2 happened to be against Boca and River scoring in both of them 3 goals.

A reflection of what was River yesterday. Gandolfi is being expelled

On other results Racing won 2-0 to Central, Estudiantes tied 0-0 agaisnt Lanus and Velez won 2-0 agaisnt Huracan.

Standings after 12 matches:

Estudiantes 25
Velez 25
River 23
Racing 23
Central 21

Next match for River will be against Olimpo.

I`m back.....

Well I hadn`t really gone anywhere, but last week some personal issues arised. A close friend of the family, someone I knew my entire life, died last week. I won`t enter into details, but I really didn`t feel like posting the last few days.

I`m ok now, life goes on and so must all of us. I`ll try to catch up with what`s been going around around here.

See you later guys.
