I used the 7 day trial. It works well, but looking at the games that come on the subscription side, I wasn't able to find any I could see myself coming back to with any regularity.

The demo is frickin huge, even longer than whole The order 1886 game...lol?
Taking out all the cinematics in The Order, it may damn well be, lol. (looking forward to downloading The Order one day on a Plus sale for $19 or less) Just finished the demo, and man was it ever beefy. I am hype for this game now, I thought Bloodborne would be my favorite of 2015 with no contest, now I'm not so sure. Battle system is so so good. This feels like the game that should have followed FFXII all along, it feels like a much more natural progression from that game than FFXIII ever did.
At the time FFXIII released I thought it was good enough, but in retrospect, especially after Duscae, I think what little positive regard FFXIII got from people like me will dwindle. (quite the opposite of how respect for FFXII has only increased since it's own prime passed)
This game has way too much Naruto in it though. Noctis = Sasuke, and his warp sword = The Flying Thunder God jutsu.
At this point the troop transports drop almost dozen guys at a time, and there is something so satisfying about warping right in the middle of them, knocking a good chunk of them on their asses with Tempest, then finishing of a few on the ground with Dragoon Jump. (being able to do that move is so fun, reminds of my boy Kain ala FFIV)
XII and XIII both had shit summons. I'm glad they are getting back to super flashy summons that just arrive, wreck shit, and leave. Better that way.
I really hope it's FFXII-HD. I already own like 4 copies of it and can easily emulate it at 4k but still, trophies and much needed texture updates would be awesome for yet another playthrough.
I really wouldn't complain it was an excellent game though to be honest I wouldn't mind a break from playing old FF games I hope SE have had something on the boil they haven't told us about and will surprise us with a new FF offshoot or *gasp* a new IP?
Their record with new IPs last gen was pretty abysmal. They hit a homer run with Bravely Default recently, but that game really is a Final Fantasy in everything but name. I'm leaning towards FFXII International HD. That game has aged like fine wine and is increasingly revered by the fan base with the passage of time. They'd be foolish not to capitalize on it now. Though I'd also love Dragon Quest 8 HD.
I was glad to hear digital wasn't being left out of the Duscae deal. Got to admit, I'm playing the demo first. I AM interested in Type-0, but the demo is supposed to be only about forty minutes or so, and I really can't wait to dig into dat battle system. FFXIII was stuck in a weird mid way point between turn based and real time, it seems the reaction to this one is much more positive. I have yet to read demo reactions that are not mostly positive.
Um no its not. Those who buy digitally also get the demo ( at least those who buy it within the first week )
I know, thats exactly what I said. :)
For a long time they just kept saying the demo comes with a pre-order early copies, but their was no digital pre-order offered. (which is too bad, I'd have liked for that to have be preloaded and already to go) They didn't clarify that until relatively recently.
As per the discussion of future penis markets for people who want bigger dongs… eh. I'm happy with Little Elvis, thanks much.
I just don't get the fascination with "Floating camera with a gun taped to it" game number 23,062. You get a campaign where you mow down some enemies, maybe gets some cool set pieces, than you get a multiplayer mode where you kill/get killed by obsessive compulsive teenagers and man children who haven't been outside in a year while having various scratchy annoying voices calling you a weird and unfunny mixture of various racial and sexual terms. It's the same in every fucking game, from every fucking series.
Glad to see the press becoming steadily more critical of this generic garbage.
