[QUOTE="Skittles_McGee"][QUOTE="kris9031998"] The reason i dont care is that halo 3 was COMPLETELY dissapointing. And so was ODST. So what makes me think the next is gonna be good when the past 2 were failures? (in quality, not quantity)kris9031998
In your opinion. But as I said, if you didn't care, why go through all that trouble? Did Halo betray your family or something and now you have a vendetta?

Yes, it stole my life savings and had an affair on my mom. lol

so you hated halo 3, but decided to buy odst. or are you saying it was junk just from what you heard cows say on these forums? The past 2 may have been failures to you, but the overwhelming majority loved the game and could care less about what halo did to your life savings or your mom b/c your sad attempts at "lol's" mean nothing nor does your opinion when it is just based on childish reasoning

[QUOTE="HAZE-Unit"]

[QUOTE="hellhund"] There were a number of places giving away beta keys that didn't require the disc. Plus, you could get ODST for cheap. So, a free beta for a decently made multiplayer with a large, rabid fanbase is always going to put up big numbers.hellhund

So you are telling me those numbers could be achieved even if it was a bad BETA? are you telling me the fanbase is blind? are you freaking kidding me?

For one, I don't have any comparison numbers. But yes, its widely known that the Halo fanbase is blind enough to play a new Halo game online for free, even if it were bad. But Reach isn't bad, its just boring and generic.

haters gonna hate

You do know prices drop over time right? Check HD TV prices from 3 years ago and compare them to now.

Pelon208

sure in 3 years 3d tv will be more affordable. I don't think however it will drop as fast as you may think. The cost of high quality peripherals and excelent 3D production is costly. I mena sure you can buy a HDTV now for 200 bucks, but you can bet it isnt the best or the biggest out there (will not even be in 1080p). By then sure more games will be 3D, but i bet a lot will implement it poorly like some 3d movies out there. Sure even t.v. shows will also air in 3D, but for its costs im willing to bet a lot more show producers will stick to traditional format that is used by the majority of its audience. Also by then a new feature may come up as "revolutionary" and make 3D seem like the past. The cost benefit now and even a few years down the road do not justify the purchase of a brand new 3d tv. Heck they might even add an extra $5 dollars for video games for the production costs of 3D

Good products and bad products are always going to be in the market, not only with this 3D things, its like a good game and a bad game, the solution its to do a proper research before you bought anyhting, like always.

And don't forget, you getwhatyou payfor.

However what happens when the amount of bad product overwhelms the good product like we see on the wii. Yeah apple may have 500,00 pluss apps, but 90% are trash. Clash of the titans was "turned 3D" in order to get more ticket sales, and it worked. However it was also a bad movie, and 3D was poorly used. Im willing to wager that a lot of people from all industries will try and make money off of consumers and advertise their 3D. And while i dont doubt your research that goes into buying your products, I know many people do not do as much research. These companies will make money off of them promoting 3D and will continue to make sub par content as long as people buy into the hype. The wii has been out for what 4 years? and still a lot of shovel ware continues to come out and sell, and i dont see a end to it anytime soon. The same goes with so many other products. Maybe after a while only good quality 3D will come out and it may become the standard. However that will not happen anytime soon, until 3D is more widely implemented. So for all intents and purposes 3D is still just a gimmick.

While I may get what I pay for, i also dont want to have to pay a high premium to enjoy something touted as "chaning the entire industry" If something truly will change the industry it had better be accessable and affordable while maintaining a certain level of quality.

[QUOTE="popopatrol"]

yeah all you need is 2000+ dollars to drop on a 3d tv just for 3d effects, not worth it imo.

Riverwolf007

I bought one last week for $900and it is 60inch 1080p and 3d ready. mitsu DLP ftw

im glad you can find such a deal, because i know I as a regular consumer sure cant. Even 900 dollars is a failry steep entry price for a lot of people going through the economic downturn. Also keep in mind the availability of 3D content, and willingness of consumers to adapt to new technology. It doesn't seem like people are so eager to make the switch to 3d for some visual enhancements.
