"GameStop is a large company, but has been able to quickly adapt to emerging and potentially disruptive market trends; how have you been able to do this?"
By continuing to put undo pressure on the store managers, assistant managers, and underlings. We will continue to threaten them with disciplinary action if they don't meet their weekly quotas for subscriptions and reservations. We will continue to ask each customer 10 questions for add-on purchases and will continue to make them feel bad for not following through. And we will continue to give very little in return for customers' trade-ins. That, my friend, is how we will keep mo' money flowing through our company through disruptive market trends.
Welcome to GameStop, can I help you find anything?
Yes, I'd like to get this used copy of Destiny for Xbox One.
Great, it's used for $44.99, and you get ten percent off with your discount card.
Sweet! So it's about 40 bucks?
Yes Sir!
I'll take it!
Great! Now, you'll have to pay a fee to unblock the used game. Let's see, let me look it up on my computer here...that'll be $25.00 to unblock the game.
Demon's Souls and Dark Souls have been the only day-one purchases for me in the last 10 years -- Dark Souls II shall be my third day-one purchase. Definitely psyched. Best series in many, many years.
