For the super training part, you don't have to do it. The EV and IV training regiment is meant to get the max out of a certain Pokemon. At times, you can only take full advantage of EV and IV training after the endgame (Pokemon League). There's no NPC that even mentions these training methods because it's something that a player had noticed and decided to research and expand. Do those methods make a Pokemon stronger? Yes. I've done those training methods and I have to tell you, they are time consuming. You have to catch the right natured Pokemon, you have face a certain Pokemon over and over again. You can't use Rare Candies or any DEF UP or etc items. It really caters to players that want the absolute most out of their Pokemon. Competitive players would take on that type of regiment.

More over, you can train your Pokemon normally and still have your kick @$$ team. Just know that each Pokemon has a Stat Cap, so use your HP, ATT, and DEF Up items carefully.

I think I average in about 10 games a year. Often times, such as this year, many good and interesting games come out and I tend to buy them all. For example, I will be getting NBA2K14, CoD: Ghosts, BF4, and Pokemon X before the year is out. On top of the other 7+ games I've already bought. Luckily for me, my library has it's own game library and 8 out of 10 of the time it gets the hot games.

Depends on what you are looking for. You may cater to a certain reviewer because they are on the same wavelength as you. Others may pour a lot of their emotions, and sometimes fanboy/girlism, into a review. You just have to keep a good eye out for good reviews. Read the first few sentences; decide whether or not it's a rant or an honest review.

No, I do not. Especially when it is a adventure or rpg game. I tend to get 90% of the main campaign finished, before starting a new campaign on a harder difficulty. Then I finish 50% of that and move on to a new game. This happened to games like The Last Remnant and Infinite Undiscovery.
