I would greatly appreciate it if anyone with 4.74 can confirm/deny this.

After updating to Firmware 4.74, I'm unable to play US 3D Blu-rays. Some BRs play only a 2D image, and some don't even start only giving a warning message, "This disc has recognized that your player and/or display does not support 3D playback or your firmware requires updating..."

Starting one disc, I also got the notice that I can view 3D in my PSVR; would I like to (I checked 'No', because my TV does a better job). In diagnosing this, I removed the PSVR HDMI loop, and just connected the PS4 straight to the TV — still with issues.

My setup has been working flawlessly prior to this update.

I have a 65" 4K TV, and when I run the PSVR the social screen resolution is terrible. It looks like I'm connecting through RCA cable. It's 1080p, but very grainy. My TV has had no issues upscaling to 4K with other PS4 titles.

I've checked my connections, and they're tight as well as being wired according to instruction diagrams. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or if other people have the same issue. Is this as good as the external unit gets?

Nope. They lost me on the lack of 4K Blu-ray drive. Still can't bring myself to buy an Xbox 1S that does have it. I'm still in shock hoping to wake up from this bad dream. Why Sony? You were the chosen one! I trusted you!

I smell a movie tie-in: GameSpotlight

When I was watching the Xbox presentation, the carefully worded "4K andBlu-ray" spec made me wonder if that's 4K streaming and games, but only 1080p Blu-ray.

True 4K Blu-ray stand-alone players are still selling for $400. I'm not talking about upscaling to 4K, because my TV already does that. I want a machine that can read a true UHD disc.

I love Witcher 3 on PS4. So much so that I went back and purchased 1&2 on Steam. The control schemes are crazy... you have to switch stances for different types of fights (single, group). It really made it not very enjoyable, even though I love the storytelling. Just get the books.

I would appreciate a recommendation for white gaming headsets with microphone capabilities.

I've had terrible experiences with the Sony Gold wireless set; the bridge at the top of the head cracked in half after a couple months of use.

I also have some Beats, but getting the in-line mic to work while gaming has been impossible as I recall...

Wish list:

• Easy mute is also a must, since I'm a freak like that.
• Excellent 3D surround capabilities.
• Upcoming products okay too. I don't follow the headphone scene, but love new tech.

I wouldn't load up on anything. Get a PS Plus subscription, and wait for the flash sales. Life is Strange complete was about $10 last week.

You mentioned you played Uncharted 1&2. I would still get the triple pack and play 3 before 4 comes out. The biggest missed opportunity in the remake was that they didn't add throw grenade back to 1&2.

Witcher 3 is also and amazing game, and will kill a lot of time.
