Saturday morning blog: Drakensang online, Offensive combat beta thoughts

Hello everyone here is another Saturday morning blog coming at ya! Today I will be talking about an action rpg named Drakensang online that runs on your browser and the upcoming beta thoughts on Offensive combat.

Drakensang online is an action rpg published by bigpoint games. The game currently has three classes which have their own distinctabilities and traits. Once you pick a class there is an extremely simple custumization feature ahead of you. Barely any options are given. Once you start your frst quest eventually you will battling hordes of enemies and unleashing some of your new founded skillls. The framerate can drop sometimes and even if your computer runs exeptionally well you can lag at times. Despite all of this the game still holds up pretty well, though it may not be for everyone.

Offensive combat is a new upcoming browser fps developed by U4iA games. The game seems to have a timesplitters feel to it with toilet humor. The game promotes teabagging, kill stealing, and humiliating a character in any way possible. After playing the beta I can honestly say that that it is extremely childish but, that is not a bad thing. The game utilizes these features very well and it is very enjoyable. Though it was only a beta the game is suprisingly good.

So this is the end of my Saturday morning blog until nextime see ya!

Microsoft and kinect games

So the new steel battalion is out and by playing the demo I can conform that Microsoft needs to stick to the dance games while they have the chance or at least spend more time working on a game rather than send a game out immediatly after announced. With clunky controls, stupid AI, and insufficient accuracy the game just cannot stand up to the trailer that was released. I've seen this before; "hardcore" games that have been releasedrecently on the kinect only satisfy the youngest of gamers with little knowledge about decent games. Honestly I do believe that if microsoft does'nt improve themselves in some kind of way they will start to fall short like they've been doing.

Microsoft's Xbox 720 leaked?

Hey guys sorry for not posting a saturday morning blog last saturday no ideas came to my mind that day. Anyway supposedly Microsoft has leaked new information on their upcoming console though it may seem fake, it does give Microsoft fans ideas about what they would be bringing to the table in years to come. The rumors say that the new console will feature a dvr, blu-ray, updated graphics (extremely better than the 360), and storage/disc formats. Rumors say that the new console will cost $299 and to be realesed (or announced) near chrismas of next year.Xbox 720

Next-gen controllers

Earlier today I was searching google foroutrageous controllers for the next xbox console. Stumbling upon this one I thought that this was outrageosly funny and it looks like it could be legit. What do you think?

Rumor has it that the next-gen Microsoft controller will have an assortment of buttons

Saturday morning blog: Thoughts on this week's E3

Hello everyone this blog won't be as long as my other ones but I do want to state this, this years E3 was not as good as I expected it to be. Most of the conferences were bogus, the games that I was really stoked for kinda fell short, and as a gamer I really wasn't that interested in smart glass(maybe its just me). But for now i'm really disappointedand hopefully my disappointmentwould subside when some of the new games are released.

E3 Is Here! And the new and improved wii u

Yes everyone E3 is finally here. If you didn't already know Yesterday was the pre- E3 confrence for Nintendo and they stated many of the new tricks and new features for the wii u. While watching the video I thought to myself "Hmm this could possibly be Nintendo's success".Yesterday they also announced that the wii u will be bringing online functionality to the next level by utilizing miiverse. Yes miiverse (as claimed) is the mii universe. Players will be in this large open forum at the title screen; they will also be in seprate categories depending on what games you play or like.

They also announced the new and improved wii u gamepad (as they call it now) and the new wii u pro controller. Though the conntroller is "new" it does look much like the older wii u classic controller pro. I do believe that the wii u will support multiple controllers and multiple tablets. Hopefully this week Nintendo will announce even more of the new third party games coming up and this should give hardcore gamers anticipation and new ideas regarding the next-gen consoles.

Saturday morning blog: Dungeon crawling

Yes the time is here another saturday morning blog; today we will be talking about therevolutionaryscenario Dungeon crawling. Dungeon crawling is a type of gamingscenario that allows players to navigate their hero in a maze like enviroment. I do believe that the first computerized dungeon crawler was pedit5 for the PLATO system. Though it did fail it was a revolutionary game that did start it all.

Dungeon crawling has come a long way since then, games that utilized this scenario were frequent and board games that utilized this scenario were frequent too. Linley's Dungeon Crawl is also a revolutionary game. Starting in 1997 it is one of the most popular roguelike computer game that still has many players today. On September 19th 2006 its successor Dungeon crawl stone soup was released and is widely one of the best roguelike rpgs out there. Players navigate their hero through mazes and dungeons, battling monsters, finding maidens, finding items and completing the game.

Hack and slash games have also branched out from this genre giving gamers Diablo, Dungeon Siege, and Shadowgate. Though pedit5 is long lost we still have the awesome games that it has left us.
