lately while playing games like far cry 2 and fallout 3 (a lot) after about an hour or two of playing, I'm experiencing major slowdowns and the game grinds to a hault from 30-40 fps to 5-10 fps. My specs should not be an issue (8800GT SLI, OC q6600@3.6Ghz, 4GB RAM on vista). Any help is apreciated :)

i just got a new $3,400 computer and im having some troubles getting everything working right. my specs are:

OP: Vista Ultimate
MB: XFX Nforce 680i socket 775 DDR 2
CPU: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz
GPU: x2 Nvidia 8800GT
Driver Version: 7.15.0011.6925
Ram: 4GB (ya i know, not needed)
DirectX: 10

now with that setup, i'd expect i would be able to run crysis at max at the native 1680 x 1050 resolution, but i cant. even with no AA the game still stutters along at ~20 fp. i already know that nvidia hasnt released any drivers that support sli 8800's on vista yet, but even with one card i still think i'd be able to run it very nicely. whats wrong??

with such a fanboi comment its hard to tell if the OP is troll bait or not....anyway to the question. im being optimistic and hoping assassins creed or mass effect are a good enough to beat out the halo hype and get game of the year, but seeing how halo 2 turned out it doesnt look like it.

thank you! i cant beleive everyone has forgotten about myst. i think it was the first game i ever played that took more then 15 hours to pass (and made me learn piano)

other then that i would say diablo/diablo II (MOO), the Total war series. and magic carpet 2 just cause i loved that game :)
