To truely appreciate Halo's story you have to look outside the game, in the novels and the graphic novels... I haven't personally but what i got from the games was a very intrigueing if vague story to follow. Hell, it was more then i got from the first Half-life.. I didn't have the manual and there we're practically zero story elements... the events that took place can be summarized as: Traveling, Scientist banter, destruction, jumping puzzle, shooting, shooting, shooting, jumping puzzle, shooting, soldiers, boss, shooting, jumping puzzle... Rinse and repeat. that's what i got from just playing it and not looking for an underlying message._Cab0ose87_

the story of halflfe

you work at black mesa, then you unleash the aliens unto earth as they seek refuge from the combine, and you try to get out of black mesa, but the h.e.c.u. has to contain and kill all aliens and witnesses, you kill the leader of the aliens, and take a job offer and go to sleep for a few decades. you wake up to find out earth has been enslaved by the combine, a race of much higher intelligence. they took over earth in 7 hours and the administrator of black mesa becomes administrator of earth. you trigger uprisings by invading nova prospekt, a high security prison, and ruin the combine very slowly, until you have more freedom. that is all that is known. also, they got rid of the ability to have birth, so humans are being backed into a corner, and halo's story is much less deep than that, and ive read and played alot of their stuff.

xen is a destroyed world, vortigaunts! and they are fleeing from the combine which you do not meet until halflife 2, they deplete all resources and remove birth from existance, and they keep pummeling earth into nothing to largen their empire. but in halflife one all you do is kill the one defense against them. wikipedia will explain better. xen creatures technically do not exist, except headcrabs, and the rest fleed from their homeworld into earth and xen.

I only do it if someone does it to me first. For every time that person teabags me, I do it back. Besides that, I never teabag.CrossFire245

BAD idea dude. i no a guy who did that cause the guys killed a bunch and they were in a cyber cafe. these huge dudes got up and almost beat the crap out of him, i do it once, not repeatingly, just one really fast one, cause its a little funnier.

which one?

before you just say one or the other, think about it.

i personally pick halflife.

the plot of halo is just the same thing, halo 1 go around killing covenant, meet flood, go onto flood infested covenant areas, destroy something (excluding halo 2)

but halflife is alot deeper. its got the combine and so much more. It also has cool speedrunning, bunnyhopping style. the thing that makes halo so special is it had its own system to come with it. if halflife had that, halo would be another vectorman really,

which one do you think is better?

unless you mean the music style hardcore, then no.

opeth would be sick on rock band if there was double bass though

ok, if you post, dont put something like double bass crazyness that cannot be played with one bass pedal, such as angel of death or raining blood. also, do not put any instrumentals on. My two are holy wars and blacklist. holy wars is difficult on everything, but does not require much double bass, and blacklist (by exodus) has only short double bass sections that they have in metallica songs on it. what songs do you want?
