Option 1:

GTX 760

128GB SSD

Gaming mouse

Option 2:

GTX 770

So, I can pretty much do one or the other. I'm upgrading the GPU from a GTX 550Ti. I don't have a SSD currently and I don't have a "gaming" mouse. I'm just not sure the 770 is worth it compared to the other upgrades I'm looking at. It would be easier for me to get an SSD and/or gaming mouse at a later time, although chances are I would end up just doing without. I don't know the next time I'll be able to upgrade to a higher end GPU like the 770. What are your thoughts on my first world problem?

That's a pretty big jump from a little tweaking.

I built my first rig a few months ago now. Before that the most I had done was upgrade RAM and install a graphics card. It may be intimidating at first, but it's not hard. I believe the others would agree that you should learn up and build your own. Picking parts can be tedious and confusing at times, but for that you can just give us a budget and a few people will supply you with a good list of build components. As far as this whole process being worth it, fun, dull, etc., that's really down to your personality. If you like electronics and enjoy fiddling/building things, then this should be up your alley.

Run an optical cable from the port on your motherboard to the port on your sound system. Then select the correct input on your sound system.

I picked up this headset not too long ago and still like it. Sound is good and the mic works well.

Im afraid that this cable won't be of use because the DVD hasn't got a Digital Audio Out (Optical) Steve_LowBill

It doesn't need an output, it needs an input. Your DVD player acts as the receiver for your sound system correct? Any movies that you play through it will automatically be played through the surround sound. You need the optical cable to go from the TV to the DVD player so any television programs you watch will be played in stereo or surround sound (whichever is offered by the broadcaster).

Unless maybe I am not understanding what you want to accomplish.

You need an optical cable or TOSLINK. This will give you the best sound for the system you have. Do you have any cable or sattelite boxes or is it just the TV and the DVD player?

Thank you gentleman for the response. It really brightens my day. Thank you for the compliment sir. :) I will try to post some pictures as soon as possible. I never really focused as much on looks as I did performance. Would I rather have a car that looks like a Bugatti or a car that performs like one. Hmmm... let me think. It's like all the individuals that pretend to have money seemingly don't. Seems to be a trend these days. I commend you guys on these builds they all look really good! :) I had a question in reference to another build that I had been thinking about and was wanting some advice. What is your opinion on the CFI case and the AZZA case? RimacBugatti
Looking forward to the pics. You should also check out the benchmark thread.

Microsoft Security Essentials for me as well. I don't do a whole lot that would cause me to get a virus though. I also have Malwarebytes as a backup.
