I'm looking into building my own Gaming PC and done a bit of research. This is what I have chosen:

Case - Antec 900

Motherboard - Asus P5N-D nForce 750i Sli

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700

Graphics card - Asus EN8800GT 512Mb

RAM - Kingston 2*2Gb DDR2 KHX6400D2K2/4G

Sound Card - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme

PSU - Antec NeoPower 650

Hard Drive 1 - Hitachi Ultrastar 10K300 147Gb

Hard Drive 2 - Hitachi Deskstar P7K500 250Gb

Optical Drive 1 - Pioneer DVR-110DBK

Optical Drive 2 - Pioneer BDC-202BK (Blu-ray)

I'm fairly new to this so what do you guys think of this build, any improvements, are all components compatible with each other etc.

Thanks

When I was looking at motherboards I saw the nvidia nForce 750i SLI. When looked at this on Google for prices I found that Asus were coming up (there may have been some others as well) and the product was called something like "Asus motherboard P5N-D nForce 750 SLI" The question I have for you is why it says Asus, as they are a completely different company. I have also seen this happen regarding graphics cards as well.

Thanks for the help

Im quite new to this sort of stuff so I need help selecting a motherboard. What things should I look out for? What makes a particular motherboard good? Does it even matter what motherboard you get? Any suggestions got a reasonable motherboard for a first build?

Thanks

I must say I don't really understand graphics cards. I see often on system requirements that you will need a GeForce XXXXX. What I understand is that GeForce is a make of graphics cards but what if you have a different make, how can you compare if your card is good enough. What makes a graphics card good? Is it just the memory size? Now I have a ATI Mobility Raedon X1300 Hypermemory 128Mb. Is this good or bad and why? Any other pointers to get me started?

Thanks

I'm looking for a good FPS game which my computer will handle. Something released at around 2005 should do the trick. Any recommendations?

These levels get well tough and ANNOYING. Becasue when you go really fast they go fast when you go slow they go slow. What are the tactics to coming first. And doing 3 laps is so annoying. What i find is your overall position is hugely dependant on how well you perform in like the last 10 seconds of the race and beacuse even if you do really well at the start they are always right behind you.

Help!

Thanks
