[QUOTE="Gzus666"][QUOTE="comissario"][QUOTE="Gzus666"][QUOTE="comissario"][QUOTE="Gzus666"][QUOTE="comissario"][QUOTE="Gzus666"][QUOTE="vip3r666"]the processing power of the ps3 is 1% that of the human brain. of course, in some cases (george dubya bush) the brain's processing power is .1% that of the ps3's :Dcomissario
where did you get this stat? computers can out process us by miles, and have a larger capacity for information

please go to school. computers can never out process us. if we could put our processing power in a computer, the computer would be almost flawless

just like how we are almost flawless? oh wait, we arent. not sure what this has to do with processing, we cant come close. tell me when you can crunch trillions of mathematical equations at a time, and we will talk. supercomputers have been out processing us for years.

show me video evidence of a supercomputer controlling all of our bodily functions then i'll believe that supercomputers out process humans

how is that complicated? there would be no reason for it, and since they use simple machines to control hearts (pace makers) lungs(breathing machines) its a simple electronic impulse to make the muscle contract. you seem to overrate the human body. they have made an artificial stomach that can digest. all these things will easily be reproduced. but why would a computer need to do this? there is no reason, it could be done with the correct programming, as computers can do more than us on a computational level. how many humans can run modern jets by themselves? most of the functions are computer controlled, with the basic things a human input, but can be easily controlled by computers. you make a simple argument, and a silly comparison. when it comes down to it, we are talking about intelligence, and computers will beat us.

ok smarty (or maybe not) pants i wanna see you substitute your brain for a super computer and let's see if you're gonna be very smart. why are some scientists considering uusing dna to power super computers (atlhough not possible yet), because there isn't anything better than a human. i guess you are one of those ignorant people, maybe a brit? well americans can be ignorant too.

not sure where you get the DNA powered super computers, would love to see that in writing. at this point, you couldnt directly throw in a computer, cause like i said, they are still working on proper AI. AI will eventually get to the point where it can make logical decisions for every situation on the fly. they already have a primitive version called fuzzy logic. it has been used for years for computers to make decisions. computers can run any organ in the body, and you know that for a fact, cause they do it all the time to keep people alive. running the body doesnt mean we are intelligent, just means designed for life, rather than pure thought. computers on the other hand wont suffer from emotion, and body functions to really worry about, so it can be all dedicated to thought. you keep telling me to do things that are currently not really possible, i never stated it is going to happen tomorrow, but it will eventually. everyone seems to say since computers were designed by us, we have to be smarter, but you were designed by nature and evolution, and im pretty sure we are smarther than the general idea of nature as we know it. you have to teach children, otherwise they will just be a simple creature, children have to be taught the combined knowledge of an entire civilization, which would have to be done with the computer also. but clearly they can do this better, because computers have long since surpassed our storage capacities, and computational is debatable to a point, but they will eventually pass us for sure. remember just 20 years ago, computers were almost retarded by comparison, thats quite a quick progression, much faster than our evolutionary process will ever begin to be.

ok suit yourself. i think we humans are smarter and you've got a different opinion, we shouldn't kill each other over that. but there is one thing i've to say, and that is that if all our brain functions were made into memory the computer would be nothing our braindoes calculations much faster than a computer, i bet if we put a computer to replace a brain the computer wouldn't stand a chance of controlling everything. and boy we had to teach computers how to work too or else it would be retarted as you said it was 20 years ago. i need to say that computers make smarter decisions but they aren't smarter than us. no chess player stands a chance of beating a computer because we humans programed it to do smart moves, while a human cannot be programmed. i want you to teach a computer how to talk. this is the link where i got the dna powered computer thing http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/dec99/945138490.Ns.r.html . and i didn't want to tell you things that aren't currently possible but i told you to prove how smart a computer actually is. i ask you a final question. imagine if we humans had no brains how would computers exist? if computers we're smart they would be able to create themselves, a computer is just taught to make things easier and better deccison for humans. the link i gave will show you some valuable information. i bet you couldn't put a robot as a soldier wthout it having help. let's put this to rest. i liked the points you brought up and i hope you liked my points too. very long debate ey, let's quit this.

Aren't computers just 1's and 0's which are just yeses and nos. How complicated is the structure of computers. yes, no, while, if then statements ect this is the core of computers right? Doesn't sound complicated to me...Ask a computer a question like what should i do about girlfriend problems. How could a computer help? If we humans dont put the ability in the computer to answer the question then the computer cant. Simple as that.

Anyone else here think that being smart is more then calculations. There's logic, morals, compassion, honesty, loyalty, personality and especially what ever that make us humans human. I don't think we would have robots that are female, male, gay straight, different ethnicities, cultured, funny, silly, style, goofy, mean, able to create video games, music, movies, books, tv shows, and anything that makes life good. Can anyone here imagine a robot comedian? How would the bot handle heckler? Could anyone here see a robot growing up in a  **** hole creating a garbage band blowing up to star status?

None... I liked the 2 first mgs on the ps2, but the 3rd one was terrible IMO.

I never had any love for dmc, I got really bored after playing it for a few hours.

As for the ff series... ff X was the last ff game that I´ll play, until they revamp the storyline. ( I´m sick of being the boy with perfect spike hair that saves the world, yet again... and watching 20 minutes cut-scenes with bad dialogue every time my character gets sad)

You obviously havent played FFXII or you wouldnt have said that. Every character in that game is as important (if not more) than the main protagonist. Also you're not out to save the world.

Yeah you do Save the World....Save the world from war.

The sequel will not be appreciably better.

makingmusic476

Mike...get a grip on it man.. Did you just build yourself a time machine? No? Then is there any insight you could give me into your opinion here?

It seems rather slanderous at first glance...seeing as you haven't seen the game or taken part in its development.

The biggest problem with the first game was the framerate....that's kinda it...I mean it wasn't outstanding but you said it was "crap" man that just isn't true. If the game was outright awful then there wouldn't be interest in this studio or the multi-million dollar title that they're working on

Feel free to explain where the "slander" is. If you think Killzone 1 was amazing, not being appreciably better doesn't make it bad, right?

YOU have no idea what the game is like, either. The first game was bad. The PSP game, also, was bad. Sorry, but the sequel does not get benefit of the doubt.

As for the first one being crap --- yeah, it very much was crap.
-=Mike

The Killzone: LIberation for the psp was NOT bad. It got an 8.3, and would've gotten even higher had it had online multplayer and a longer campaign (yet they didn't detract for GeoW's short ass campaign).

Gears has online mp. So what are you complaining about?

[QUOTE="sacredBed"]

look, Ocarina of time is not just considered the best game ever because it changed games and was super good for its time. If you truly go back and play the game even now, from start to finish, you'll realize that it not only holds up perfectly, but it still does everything perfect, and everything feels perfect too. If you play Oot right now it does not matter how perfect it was back then, it still is flawless and there's nothing that melds an action adventure better even today.

I've played and beaten the best of the best, including okami god of war, shadow of the colossus, and wind waker and majora mask and twilight princess and loved them all. But I still go back to Oot and know that it had the most memorable places, locations, world, bosses, and characters, and most of all: music. Seriously, I'm not a fanboy or anything, just go listen to the soundtrack while doing homework or something and you can remember and picture yourself playing through that creepy shadow temple and isolated water temple.

The only thing it obviously can't do is technical graphics nowadays, but the artistic design, like the particles flowing around kokiri forest, blood and death filled shadow temple, and epic scale of Ganon's castle over lava plus the lightning thundering final battle more than makes up for that.

It's the best game ever not just because it was revolutionary, but because as a whole, it still does everything better than games that try to replicate the talent of 1998 nintendo in some form. It has lots of value because you can keep going back to the wonderful hyrule world and feel alive and do tons of stuff until you've exhausted everything you want. It's a friking fun game too.

Linkthedueler

:| You put my brain in words...nice...you said it perfectly imo...

This jigga knows what he's talking about. Oot gave that whole epic experience. Everything seem to fit in place just right.

Yeah i agree but while Nintendo is selling like they have been they're not rushing to do anything over the top.
