"It seems that developers missed the fact that people who play games since the mid 90's now have 23-28 years old, and are bored with the same concepts with just a new graphics added." Yeah, I think I'm in the same boat. Gaming is feeling really stale to me right now.
Sony products are crap as far as quality is concerned. I've never owned a piece of Sony electronics that wasn't a complete POS. I don't care how many 360's are breaking down, when you look at Sony going through 12 revisions of the PS2 and still having issues, it's clear. When you have to turn a PSX upside-down to play it, something isn't right. Sony car audio stuff is garbage. You can buy Audiovox stuff for cheaper that is better quality than Sony. Sony's all about slick packaging and sometimes decent marketing and not about quality control. They've always been that way. IF they've actually turned it around for the PS3, then they would have to prove it to me, but I certainly am not buying any first-run (or second- or third-run) PS3. Microsoft certainly has had some issues with the 360 too, and to a point, this type of thing is expected. But anyone who has been around Sony products for at least the past 10 years knows not to expect much from Sony, quality-wise. I think at the moment, all three next-gen consoles have stalled a bit.
I agree that I would rather not pay for online gaming. The problem, however, is that you get what you pay for. Sure, don't complain, it's free. At least Microsoft gives you the option of a much richer online experience if you want it. Charging people isn't the answer. The answer is matching Microsoft's online component for the price of free. That certainly isn't the case right now, so until that IS the case, then I'm not going to even bother thinking about PS3 online. Just because it's free doesn't mean it's good or that people should accept sub-par quality.
Wow, this article mentions a good idea: the ability to watch someone else's game. That would be a killer feature for Home IMO. I love to watch other people play. Not only that, but you'd get to check out games before buying! I really don't like the interface on PS3, and I have no desire to shell out money for a Blu Ray player that I'll never use, but if Sony can tweak their online environment and give me a killer feature like watching other people play, I might actually drop some dough on a PS3.
"Why would you spend $500 on a video card when there is only one game in the world worth playing; Minesweeper. No high end video card required for endless hours of entertainment." Why in the world would you bother reading, let alone posting about, an article about video cards on a gaming site when the only game you consider worth playing is Minesweeper?
