I personally expected a higher score. I saw the review on IGN and another sitelike a day before it came out on Gamespot and saw only positive feedback. I haven't played it yet so I don't want to blast gamespot for a 7.5, but even so 7.5 is a lot lower than what everyone else was giving itso it seems somethingmight be fishy. Honestly this was kinda the trend last generation with xbox games. I'm not going to name specifics but there were a couple exclusives that I thought deserved a higher score when the PS2 was really hot. Seems right now things are pretty much the same except this time it is with Sony. I hope gamespot is wronge and this game is better than they say because I've been looking forward to playing it.

[QUOTE="ratradler"]The HDMI cable doesn't really help. No one seems to understand the concept of upscaling. It won't reallymake the game HD. The main thing to worry about is the size of your HDTV. If it is big, ps2 games look blurry. Just like any picture with low resolution that is expanded.jimmarko21876

While that is true and all, how come the old games on my "other system" seem to upscale beautifully, with no black bars on the sides at all and very crsip and clear. I never quite could understand why though, the only differences are the VGA cable for the "other" and that it is software emulated (which so are the 80 GB, but it still looks like crap). Weird.

I know what you mean. Halo 2 looks a littlebetter on my 360 than it did on xbox. Although the image is stretched out wider. But yeah, dvds, and ps2 games don't look any better when upscaled on my 62 inch hdtv.

I think I did like one time on my PS3. No much desire to play last gen games cause I also have a Wii, and 360. Same thing with my other systems.

You make a good point, and I'm sure a lot of people will buy one for those reasons. But you chose to ignore ismy point thatthe PS3is still lacking in the games department. There will be a couple, but I don't see any coming out that are true system sellers until next year. So I don't think the sales will be on fire this holiday.

[QUOTE="ratradler"]Sorry guys, I just don't see it the same way that you do. They are going from cold to luke warm in my opinion(in relation to sales). The price drop is super important, but it still isn't that cheap forthe average consumer. And the games are still lacking for this year, and games are what really sell a console. If the PS3 starts selling like crazy, itwon't be until at least next year.MaximumD

9 months into the system, you have a price cut, and a decent selection of games. Stop complaing.

I'm not complaining. I just stating that I don't think PS3 sales are going to be on fire this holiday. If I really wanted to complain I would say I regret buying my PS3 last march for 600 dollars because I can't realy play anything that great on it that's not already on my 360. There you go, I'm complaining now. Still doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to the good games coming out next year.

I actually think that it looks pretty good. I not a huge RPG fan, but I got addicted to oblivion this summer and thought that mass effect looked like it would be good too. I like the whole space theme, and I find it refreshing from the typical Japanesse RPG style. But then again when it comes to RPG's I relatively a noob.

This is good news for Sony, if it is true. Too bad it isn't going to happen for a long time. Right now is when they need big title third party support.

The mouse and keyboard definately offer better control in FPS, but I like my surround sound, big screen HDTV, and couch and coffee table when I'm playing game. Not the best environment for a mouse and keyboard.
