Just read the new GameInformer and they had about 8 pages of nice and juicy Rock Band 2 info.

Drum Trainer - a novice drummer can learn up to 78 drum patterns and teaches you to create realistic drum fills. A beats-per-minute meter, freestyle mode so you can bang the hell out of your new kit.

The Guitar - The new guitars have a built in microphone and a new feature allows you to hold the guitar up to your speakers and let it set the calibration automatically. The new Strat has a sunburst on body with faux-mapple wood finish on the neck. The strummer will feel less squishy and fret buttons now make less noise. Several real Fender Strats are being stripped and replaced with Rock Band internal parts

The Drums - Softer pads to decrease the noise, and metal reinforced kick pedal (w00t!). New inputs on the main body drums allow for expansion slots for cymbals which include crash, ride, and high hat. Partnership with Ion, an electronic drum company, will have a rock band drum kit fully adjustable and features amazing pads and cymbals. And by unplugging the gamepad from the unit it will become an actual electronic drum set. Awesome!

Jukebox Mode - Make a setlist and watch amounts to in game music videos for any song in your library.

No-Fail-Mode - playtrough songs with beginners without getting kicked off stage. Yes vix your going on expert now :-P

I just saw the rumored songlist, 84 songs to boot. And all I can say for now is I'm not really feeling some of these song and some I havent heard of yet. So far out of this track list I have 16 songs that are in my music collection, but who knows there were a couple of songs in Rock Band that I didn't know but like...Welcome Home was one of them. But so far some of these songs have been confirmed while others are still rumored there is something missing...hmm...umm wheres Freezepop? Will this be the first Harmonix game without Freezepop I hope not.

Ok so the new firmware came out early this morning and so far i'm enjoying it. Trophies are a nice addition since I was an achievement whore and those straits carry over since I only need one more trophy in Stardust then I get platinum. I disappointed with the in game custom soundtracks though since Stardust supports Custom tracks you have to do it from their menu and not through the in game XMB which sucks. But the in game XMB is awesome as I'm finally able to communicate with people in Rock Band is fun but it be faster with voice chat. Some games to pause when you bring up the XMB Stardust and Metal Gear Solid 4 pause while playing. Can't wait for more patches to come out so i can whore some more...damn thats dirty

SO Harmonix finally made it official that Rock Band 2 is coming out in September for XBOX 360 and with "other platforms" releasing later in the year....Harmonix you were a cool company but this is pissing me off. So why 360 first "Microsoft has been a great partner throughout the launch of Rock Band in the last year and their continued support is instrumental in supporting the more advanced features and cross title compatibility we will have in Rock Band 2," a Harmonix representative told IGN. Or cause you haven't released Rock Band 1 is other parts of the world for the PS3...I was so excited but now learning they I've got to wait makes me angry...I'll think I pick up Guitar Hero World Tour... I don't if you guys remember there was a wallpaper contest held by Sony last year which i made to the finals. http://www.gamespot.com/users/razielnk/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25148912 Well today I decided to browse some PS3 Theme sites and see what themes I would like and what do you know . I found someone using my wallpaper for a theme....so far i'm a little pissed this person didn't contact me for permission and that in one of his comments it says "This wallpaper was an award winning wallpaper for Sony. Custom colorful icons. Enjoy!" hmmmm ok this didn't win anything and if it did I didn't get any credit for it, So i'll be super pissed if it did.

Activision/ Neversoft Guitar Hero World Tour My thought on Guitar Hero: World Tour: I'm not going to lie I think is the worst idea for the franchise. Activision has killed GH with not only this title but GH: Aerosmith, GH: On Tour, GH: Metallica, hey who knows maybe next year they'll release GH: Rocks McDonald's its just getting ridiculous. The point of GH was to focus on Guitar, but seeing how Activision can't take a little competition they have to copy Rock Band by adding drums and vocals in the mix. Now I do admit there are things that catch my eye in GH: World Tour, the Battle of the Bands modes and the ability to create songs. Only thing is how complicated is sing creation going to be, because I can just see people just making a bunch of noise and purposely trying to make there song the hardest to play. Also the peripherals are said to be not compatible with Rock Band...which I i'm seeing as a turn away because some people already own Rock Band and don't want two drum kits in the room. Not only that but since you now its Activision they got to jack the price up on everything they make making GH: WT $189.99 listed on Gamestop, making it $20 more than Rock Band. Sorry Activision I'm not buying into World Tour you may have some good songs and features but you turned one of my favourite franchises into a whore.

Harmonix/MTV Games/EA Rock Band 2 My Thoughts on Rock Band 2: Honsetly I think its a little to soon for Rock Band 2 to come out since it just came out on the 360 in Europe last month and still hasn't seen the light of day on the PS3 (sorry Pj I know it hurts.) But if it is true that Rock Band 2 is coming out this Fall then i'm all for it. My only problem with Harmonix's is there selection in music. Sure they got some good songs but they seem to avoid the best of the artist they choose. If they get some good songs for RB2 then I believe it can compete with Rock Revolution and GH: World Tour. Most people who already own Rock Band are wanting DLC to transfer over into Rock Band 2 which I would also like to happen because it would just seem to be a waste to only play it on the first RB. So I can see Harmonix letting people who have DLC carry over into Rock Band 2. Also I don't believe there will be any new instruments for RB2 however there will be improvements: Fender Guitar: - Fix strum bar - Whammy Bar - Less noise when hitting the fret buttons Improvements for Drum Kit: - Add silencer pads - Metal Kick Pedal (if they don't add this a lot more pedals will break) - Wireless I have no real improvements for the Mic but can we have it to be wireless. My bet is on Rock Band 2 to come out victorious. What do you guys think?
