My fat ps3 is my console of choice. Plays ps1 and ps2 games. So I have a massive library of games. Ps3 games are cheap now. Metal gear solid Rev is only 4 quid on amazon. The online is free and millons are still online with it, I use my camera a lot and it has Pro, Cf, sd and mini sd card slots. Have about 20 games im still yet to finish plus 10 more I wanna buy. Normally I get consoles at launch but right now I see no point in getting any of the new consoles.
Just checked out black ops. 20, 000 players were online and a lots of new players.
Last time I went online was 2012, but too be curious, I just loaded up battlefield 3 and got a game no problem. So I just checked World at War and saw it has 1,000 players, checked mw2 and that was dead. Cod4mw, I got a game easy but it was hacked.
I think there will be plenty of players in the newer games. Like those mentioned above
Depends who for. Digital is better for the corporations... Physical is better in the long run for consumers. (Freedom to Sell / Lend / Trade forever). With digital your options are limited.
Plus, depending on where you live. For example the PSN store prices in the UK are ridiculous, especially considering how cheap amazon uk sell certain games.
I play ps2 games but on my ps3. My ps2 is boxed in the attic. The only games I do play tho is Pro Evo 5/6 as they are still the most entertaining footie games to play and Mashed is still an addictive offline multiplayer, prob coz it has no splitscreen. Still cant beat offline multiplayer, so much more fun than playing online.
The PS1 by a country mile. It was cheap, very cheap, it not only introduced the "Platinum" series to gaming, but everyone seemed to have a chipped one with a ton of copied games. People talk of the massive leap from PS2 to PS3. But there was an even bigger leap from 16 bit to 32 bit. Playsation was the start of 18+ gaming and many of the major franchises (The first GTA, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Colin McRae, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid were awesome) . It completely revolutionized gaming. Plus, it had a CD player and I didn't have one at the time.
PS2 in comparison was pretty crap. The leap from PS1 to PS2 was not that big. Similar in a way from PS3 - PS4.
I remember buying the 60gb model just before they changed it to 40GB, which was basically a crapper version. I remember the newer model didn't look as good, the SD/mini SD card, CF, and Pro Card Slots were also going to be taken out and more importantly, no backwards compatibility for PS2 games. Before that I was going to wait a while longer, but thought it was best to get the launch version quick. All the other PS3's look cheaply made, especially getting into the slim versions.
The launch model that is the 60gb, was and still is the best PS3 version. I've still got mine after all these years and it still works.
