All these threads comparing numbers of consoles sold are hilarious. Unless you're invested in Sony stock at the exclusion of MS stock (or vice versa) why do you care?

It's like this:

  • I disagree that the Wii is competing against the PS3 or 360. Nintendo made a conscious (and smart) decision to specifically not compete against the other 2.
  • Any comparison of the consoles that isn't solely focused on games is just dumb.
  • PS3 has great games not available on the 360 (Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Uncharted, Heavy Rain, Resistance, Gran Turismo, etc.)
  • 360 has great games not available on the PS3 (Halo, Gears of War, Fable, Alan Wake, Forza Motorsport, Left for Dead, etc)
  • 360 almost always has the better version of multiplat games (Bayonetta, Fallout 3, The Orange Box, Bioshock, Rainbow Six, etc.)

So the real question is whether you think the PS3's exclusive games are so much better than the 360's that you'd be willing to settle for the inferior version of some great multiplat games?

For me the answer is no, but ymmv.

I didn't get an iPhone for games, but I've been pretty impressed with some of the games I've tried out (GTA: Chinatown wars is pretty sweet).

Unfortunately, like others have said, the lack of a real d-pad and buttons is extremely limiting.

Hmmmm.....scanning the forum reveals a lot of these threads comparing numbers of consoles sold. But why do people care? For me, it's all about the games. I couldn't care less if more people bought a PS3 or vice versa. I mean it's somewhat interesting to see who's winning the market, but from a gamer's perspective it's meaningless information.

Simple answer.

People like the PS3 list more then the 360 list.

*shock face*

Same thing works the other way doesn't it?

What list? They were saying it before any list was posted, and they didn't mention any games. BTW, good job proving my point.....

The same list youshould have lookedatback on the 28th when you made your first post.

Oh, and whining because people don't like the same console as you isn't making a point.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit I guess. I specifically said I couldn't declare a "winner" for 2010, and explained why (games looked very even to me).

But yeah, let's look at the responses I got when I made my original list ALL THE WAY back on the 28th. I created detailed lists of games only available for one console. Then I listed games released for both consoles where one version was clearly better. And then broke down what the lists showed: The PS3 has a slight edge in highly rated exclusive titles, but tends to get the "bad" version of a lot of great multiplat games.

And what were (most of) the responses? Same bunch of BS. Got a bunch of people saying certain games "shouldn't count"....which is probably the stupidest argument I've ever heard....followed by others who said IGN ratings can't be trusted (I could have posted similar Gamespot ratings, but I imagine those couldn't be trusted either)....and that was pretty much it.

I don't know why I expected more, but there's just very little substance to this forum at all.

[QUOTE="redbird19"][QUOTE="spookykid143"]Out of those games only 2 of those games count for the 360.

Pray tell why? And if you mention PC you should punched in the mouth, this is clearly a PS3 vs 360 thread.

I don't care this thread is about exclusives not multiplats.

No where does the starting thread talk about exclusives or multiplats, way to make up the rules..... The PC is never mentioned either btw, if anything it was intentionally excluded. You know what it does talk about though? The 360 vs the PS3. I bet 99% of these posts bringing the PC into these 360 vs PS3 discussions are from PS3 folks that don't even play PC games. It's a pathetic way to try and discount 360 games and make the PS3 look better. You're going with the "Such and such game doesn't count" argument? Really? If I can pop it into my 360 and play it, it certainly does count.

[QUOTE="redbird19"]Hmmm....this is tough. I'm a 360 guy myself, but things look pretty close when I try and list the games (am I missing any?): Notable games for the PS3 released in 2010: God of War III MAG Heavy Rain Yakuza 3 MLB '10 Notable games for the 360 released in 2010: Mass Effect 2 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction Alan Wake Halo: Reach Fable III All other notable games that I could think of were released for both systems. Based on these lists.....I don't know....flip a coin?spookykid143

[QUOTE="redbird19"]Man, it sure would be nice if people attempted to justify their choice. I take the time to list the games released in 2010 for each system (and still didn't come up with a clear winner), but it seems the majority of the responses are "PS3, no question." No explanation given, no games mentioned, nothing....just nut-huggery at its finest.FragTycoon

[QUOTE="PAL360"]

Locopatho made this graph before Super Meat Boy and Fable3 come out so you could add an A game and an AAA doenloadable game to 360 but we have yet to see GT5 score.

Anyway, i would say both consoles will end the year about tied in retail games. Overall 360 clearly wins :)

NaveedLife

*scratches head*, where is the point for MGS4 under the PS3's AAAA section? 360 is the only console this gen that doesnt have an AAAAE :P.

Read thread title. PS3 vs 360 in 2010. MGS4 was released in 2008.
