AMDs' products are not as pricey as Intels and they have almost the same or more performance. I've liked AMD for a long time. and I'm not going for Intel anytime soon mainly because you don't get that much of a performance boost for such a high price.

I hardly think Intel got owned...

gameguy6700

Can you not tell? The intel hexcore in $1000!! and this is barely the price of a I5! but need good reviews first so I'm trying it out for you guys. I'll post the reiew once i get it and test it out.

Yes, and unfortunately for AMD their new hexacores are only on par with an i7 930. Higher end i7 CPUs still leave the X6s in their dust, and the performance gap between the best X6 and the i7 980X is as large as the price difference.

Price wise: AMD wins! Performence wise: I got no idea Although i high think that intel will win

this is actually good news for us users as intel will soon bring out a hexacore at these prices. competition is goodFUBAR24

AMD "normal" or black edition is out. It has finally been confermed and is on sale. Intel got owned.

AMD Phenom II X6:

The core is Thuban

Normal version: 2.8GHZ $209.99

Black edition: 3.2GHZ 309.99

Groundbraking price!

I'm getting the black eition.

once the 6000 series come along, the 5000 series price will probably drop. Still What 5870 brand or model should i get? I have a power supply that easily make a 5870 crossfire i think, will 700w work?

ok, sure, ans once the rumored HD 6000 series will start comin along. what happens them? XD

Edit: what brand or model of the 5870 should I get? I'm thinking about the gigabyte 5870 $399.99 version. any thing past $400 is past my budget, although i I can try to squeeze it in by removing something.
