if you dont care about the processing features (like surround, dolby headphones, whatever), it is better to invest in an external DAC..

fail..AMD..fail.. looking at AMD's record in recent years.. there's even no point in hoping that their next lineup would be on par with intel.. well, at least their mobile fusion processors are better than atom, lol..
if you have the budget for good speakers and PROPER room treatment for surround setup, always go with speakers..otherwise, headphones are better..

GT 540m is the fastest out of the bunch, but that Acer laptop throttles and overheats like crazy. Avoid it like the plague.

?? the 540m is the weakest of the bunch dude...the 6xxx cards there are at least 2-3 times faster
hmm..according to this
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html, the 540m is the ffastest..but i'm quite worried about the throttling issue now..
the apu's should get 6-7 hours battery life. Also the cpu for the 1st one is much better than the amd apue but the graphics card sux major balls. Its a shame, but next year amd will get a new apu outfitted with their new bulldozer cpu which will be much closer to intel in terms of performance. Either way for gaming the 3rd choice is probably better.

thanks..but how come the brochure states that battery life is only 4hours?? according to my experience, battery life is always less than what is advertised, never more...
thank you all for your suggestion.. No, the third choice is acer aspire je as5560g..
may i ask why it's the best?? i tried to find benchmark but no one compares them against the gt540m.. are all amd APUs better compared to mid nVidia mobile cards like gt540m or 550m??
also, according to the specs, the battery life of both the AMDs are only ~4hours, compared to 8 hours on the acer.. why is that so? i thought the APUs are energy efficient..
guys..i'm about to purchase a laptop.. which one do you think is the best in terms of gaming performance??
choice 1
Acer Timeline X AS3830TG
Intel® Core™ i5-2410M Dual-Core Processor (2.3GHz base, up to 2.9GHz / 3M L3 Cache)
Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit (TC/SC/ENG)

13.3" Glossy / LED-Backlit, Super-slim design (1366 x 768)
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M (1GB Dedicated) / NVIDIA® Optimus™ technology
Choice 2

15.6" HD Glossy / LED-Backlit (1366 x 768)
AMD Radeon™ HD6520G in processor + AMD Radeon™ HD6650M (1GB Dedicated) (Dual Graphics)
Choice 3
AMD A-Series Quad-Core Processor A8-3500M (1.5 GHz base, up to 2.4GHz / 4MB L2 Cache)
Windows® 7 Home Premium 64-bit (TC/SC/ENG)
2 x 2GB DDR3 1066MHz / No Free Slots
750GB SATA HDD (5400rpm)
15.6" Glossy / LED-Backlit (1366 x 768)
AMD Radeon™ HD 6650M (1GB Dedicated)
I think the nVidia card will be better, but I'm not sure since both the APUs have crossired graphics.. (am i right?? the hybrid GPU and the dedicated one??) also, both the AMDs are cheaper than the first choice..
[QUOTE="redwarrior191"]I read many people complain in OCN that the sensor is so sensitive that even a little dust can cause it to go nuts..but simple blowing can remove the problem..about the twin eye, although maybe the issue will not occur that often in real use, i still do not feel comfortable buying $80 mouse that has known issues.. btw, do you have the r.a.t. 7 or 9? how is the comfort of it??IantheoneI have the 7. I really hate wireless mice, so I got the 7. Dust does make it go crazy, but I imagine using a decent mousepad would help that. Not that it happens often anyway. It happens maybe once every 30+ hours of use and you just pick it up and blow in it to fix it, really easy and simple. As for comfort, you would be hard pressed to find a better mouse since you can change all of the surfaces that your hand touches for your preference.
mm..and about the thumb scroll, do you actually can use it for side-scrolling in web-browsing or image viewer or does every scroll direction only responds to a certain assigned macros??
