I agree with Funkyhamster. Path of Radiance has a good tutorial mode, and will help you develop tactics of the game. Maybe if you like it enough, you will get the 2 GBA games...which other than visuals, are much better games than path of radiance.
When it comes to resolution, VGA and HDMI are superior, followed by component cables...VGA and HDMI are going to allow the HD-DVD player to work at its full potential on a higher res. HDTV while component will not....Whatever you do, optical out for 360 is a must if you want the crispest sound possible.
