5 billion in profit over shadows everything IMO.

taco1881

pretty much.

people really need to step back and understand what that means. IN ONE QUARTER (3 months time), Microsoft made 5 billion dollars NET (that's AFTER taxes).

5,000,000,000.00

that's what I call "re-damn-diculous".

So the key to a succesful business is having a division that has been a failure for almost a decade? Microsofts profit has absolutly nothing to do with the fact that the XBOX has and will always be a financial mistake for Microsoft. Your a child so I don't expect you to actually understand anything, your idea of an argument is typing a number several times. Maybe the people that actually invest in Microsoft are cheering that the Xbox lost the company another $300 million as usual.

You know what I found interesting. Look at the npd numbers for march, febuary, and january. And add up the sales in japan.

199k in march

228,000 in febuary

294,000 in january

Total for the year

---------

721,000. Is it me or do I think that xbox 360 didn't sell 10 million last year, and was around the 8 million mark?

nextgengaming18

Only an idiot would believe MS had 2.4 million units just laying around.

Wait so they had 100,000 worldwide xbox 360 not sold yet? That is the only plausible way that they sold 10 million last year. Or maybe they were somewhere in the 8.8-9.2 million range?

This is about right. Its certainly not at 10 mil. yet...........Nintendo will get there first, ha, I love irony.

If people are still expeting PSP to outsell DS they are in for a fall.

Do you really think the majority of people that play pokemon and Cooking Mama like God of War, GTA or Metal Gear Solid?

The crowd that DS games appeal to is completely different from the PSP target.

Rahnyc4

cant wait to see the NPD for that game. can you say #1 selling game for that month?

.......NO.

[QUOTE="kemar7856"]ds is differnt though its an handheld theirs a differnt market 4 thatGamer46

you can say that if it makes you feel better....But in the end it just goes to show people just want fun games....Not just amazing looking games yes a game can have both....But in the end the winner will be the system that has the funnest games not the best looking....PS2 beat the Gamecube using the same rules

If that were true 360, and PS3 would be destroying the Wii in sales. Outside of Zelda, Super Paper Mario, and some VC games, what games are truly great on the Wii? It sells better because it's much cheaper, something MS and Sony better wake up and realize, they both need to cut the prices on their consoles otherwise this war is over.

Wow, how times have changed. It used to be sheep making this aurgment.

Bread_or_Decide

Yes the DS has outsold it. I think EVERYONE knows that at this point.

Now that we got that out of the way, can't PSP owners just enjoy their hand held in peace? Its not dead, its got a great sales spike in Japan and its got a great library of games for those looking for PS ****games on the go.

No, cows troll EVERY Wii thread in this forum, if cows can do it, so can we.

[QUOTE="pippin73"]Well its clearly got a lot of work to do, But i think people will be suprised by the lifespan of the PSP. Given the technology is good, and it has so many features, I think it can keep selling for a long time.pippin73

Two things. It needs to start selling first (having even been outsold by the gamecube at one time).

The hardware has no battery life, the umd format died and frankly the games are boring. I don't know what the odds of PSP making a comeback and whupping the DS, but I bet they are pretty high man!

Given that its far higher priced than the DS over 20 million sold is pretty damn good. With the price cut and the cool new games coming. I think the PSP is going to do a lot better in the future

Are you sure that the games are boring. I'm pretty sure that you either a) don't own a PSP, or b) have very bad taste in games.

Really, not in Japan. The psp will NEVER outsell the DS, EVER. Get over it.

[QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"][QUOTE="daveg1"][QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"][QUOTE="daveg1"][QUOTE="Boba_Fett_3710"]

the everyday user of consoles has no idea of how these machines work and what is inside of them.most people will just buy something casue its cheap or becasue other people are buying them.and most dont care if the graphics are better on this machine as apposed to this one,but if its dirt cheap they will get it

Then why does it matter if the Wii is weaker? Most people bought the PS2 because it was cheap and had good games, they didn't know it was the weakest. Same with the Wii, it's fun. period. Hell, I don't care what's under the hood if it's fun and I mod PCs.

daveg1

i did'nt say it did..i was talking in genralisations of most wii and every other console sales.

plus when ps2 arrived it was'nt the weakest plus people swalloed sonys hype, plus that console came from the dominant ps name built buy the ps1.

after all those things who was'nt going to buy it?

plsu are you one of the everyday users im talking about?? no!

It doesn't matter if I am an average joe or not. The fact is the Wii is selling because it is fun to play. Wii sports is one of the funnest games made in a long time and people are buying the Wii for that. It's a system seller. People who are not in the know don't care what it is, the have no brand loyalty. The Wii is fun and it's promise is even larger. The price is a perk.

you just told me why you bought one not why the few mill casuals did.

I was using casual logic though. It's fun and cheap. It's the reason casuals would pick it up. I got one because I like the games but casuals don't know what games are coming out for a system.

so do you agree the price accounted for a large part in sales for the wiii?

Again Gamecube says hi. DEMAND sells products not price.
