The guy was on dope! Black PS2 is the world wide standard color, the only possible senario of it being discontinued is if Sony stop producing PS2 altogether. I think he told you that because that's the last and only PS2 in the store at that moment, so he just wanted to make a sell anyway, but on the plus side, it's a silver one!

Silver slim PS2 is indeed a limited edition, and it came out quite a while ago, 4, 5 months perhaps. It wasn't hard to find one then, but it is now! Sony never released a silve vertical stand to go with it though.

When you buy the Silver PStwo you get a silver stand with it, which makes it more expensive. He may have told you the black one were discontinued to get you to buy a silver one now, instead of telling you that the black ones were a bit cheaper and possibly causing you to look elsewhere/waiting for stock. The silver one might be a limited edition, but they're not hard to find at the moment. The pink and white ones are much rarer.

You sure about the vertical stand thing? Because I bought 2 silver PS2s, and none of them came with the stand, even the box says the stand is not included. Sony has never done anything like including none essential accessores in its package, where did you get this? By the way, the silver limited edition is the same price as the regular PS2... Seriously, where did you get this?

Wow, no offense but where have you been the last 6 months?

You need to get a memory card adaptor in order to transfer PS2 or PS1 saves to your PS3, it costs 15 bucks.

And make sure you have a backup of those saves on another memory card before transfering, because once you move the saves onto your PS3, you are not getting them back! Whatever saves you move to the PS3, they are going to be wiped from your PS2 memory card.

I think this is only temporary, eventually Sony probably will do a firmware update to correct this!

I moved 3 memory cards worth of save ddata to my ps3 and none of my ps2 cards got erased.

I think you guys misunderstood my reply. I meant for whatever saves you choose to move onto your PS3, those saves are going to be removed from your PS2 memory card, and other saves will still be in the memory card. It doesn't mean that you transfer one save and your memory card worth of saves will be erased!

You can't judge how long a game is based on how many disks it came with. You don't know how many of those codes are in game FMVs and cinemas, and how many are actual game play and engines codes.

And you certainly can't judge how long a game is based on how long it took you actually to finish it. everyone has a different pace, some do side quests, others don't; few tasks feel easy to some, while others feel hard.

I think Max Payne 2 was $3.99 at Game Stop and EB, a brand new copy. Yes you heard right, a brand new copy for $3.99, but I'm not sure they still have them though...

I definitely will, because I liked the last one! It felt pretty good with the new swing mechanics!

Besides, this seems to be the only game for PS3 that has a definitive set release date to coincide with the movie! The only thing I'm unsure of is that if I shoud get the PS3 version for the graphics or PS2 version for the force feedback, or maybe both...tough one...

Man, it's days like this I'm so glad that I graduated college last December...

It was pretty bad for me, too. Computer Information System is freaking hard, had to seriously buckle down and hit the books, it was my last semester, I couldn't have that nonsense anymore, especially for an international student.

I don't think the 20 Gig PS3 is discontinued as of this moment, but I do think that Sony is trying gradually shift their focus to the 60 Gig and then the 20 Gig will be discontinued. Look at the Europe launch in March, only 60 Gig available initially.

But as far as Im concerned, Sony should have never made the 20 Gig to begin with, it's just a striped down version they made in an attempt to appeal to those who thought 600 bucks is just too expensive. Surely, it's a "good deal" (relatively) as Soy said, but compare to the 60 Gig, it's a total rip off.Think about how many people got screwed on launch day and settled for the 20 Gig because they couldn't get the 60 Gig...

I mean, if yu think your product is superior, then stick with it! Don't care about how people think it's too expensive and whatnot, so you make a lesser version of it, if the product is indeed that good, eventually people will come around to it. Is PS3 expensive? To me, a little bit, but it's not as expensive as X360 plus an HD-DVD player.

I fail to see how the 20GB PS3 is a "rip-off". for somebody who doesn't have wireless networking and is only going to be using his PS3 for gaming, the 20GB is perfect.

If it works for you, then it works for you! But even if you don't have a wi-fi hotspot, for an extra hudred dollars, you get 40 more Gig in the HDD, wi-fi cabability, and memory slots, you are telling me 20 Gig version is a bargin? If the 20 Gig version is 400 or 450, then I'll agree with you.
