I agree with everything you said, I mostly always agree with you anyway.
The PS3 is the console I want the most, but it is too expensive for me and it is lacking in games right now. I was surprised there was this many people that would buy a console with so little games. The only reason I see would be because of bluray, but I would expect people to wait until there is a clear winner for HD media.
The wii I also want but the only games are ones that the wiimote don't make much of a difference.(Fire Emblem 10, SSBB, Super Paper Mario). There are not many games besides SPM worth buying a Wii for and the only ones that are can be played on the Gamcube or the DS.(Twilight Princess and Trauma Center) So I hope it doesn't take away from the gamer titles, which I doubt it will, but it may. Nintendo's new IPs have mostly been non-gamer games which don't interest me.
I would buy an Xbox 360 if the price went down and Blue Dragon comes out.
