yes but they also make an enemy react in a specific and set way thus letting you control enemy behavior(e.g. false grabbing a gorgon will always prompt it to use its freeze attack-different for each type of gorgon. or false grabbing a hades minotaur will always prompt it to use its overhead smash to swing combo).
