Aw man. I had to do an embarassing speech in Health yesterday. It was on being a politician. I typed and said the word "politician" so many times I'm thinking I don't want to be a politician. Everyone's saying I did awesome, but I think otherwise. You should have seen me. I was sweating and stressing so much I had to pause for moments at a time. I'm hoping I won't have to do a speech ever again, but I know that wish will never, ever be fufilled. I'm just in the eighth grade. High school is full of embarassing moments like that. Meh. :-(
But here's the worst part: after the period after the said speech, the teacher in Health class walked into the room and congradulated me. She never did that with the other speakers. She even touched my arm... That was so wrong. Just thinking about that makes me want to get some anti-bacterial soap and just scrub that area. I'm sorry, but I feel like I'm the teacher's favorite student. That's not a fun area, lemme tell ya. I've been there before... O~O
Enough about that, though. Also on yesterday, I had to return my laptop to Best Buy. I only had it about a week before it started acting creepy. I tried to start it up, but it just went to the blue screen. I tried that restore disk but it just stopped right there at 77%. I felt like there was nothing that could be done. They even had one of those "Geek Squad" dudes try to fix it. Again, it just went to 77%. We're getting our money back in two weeks.
One good side out of today is I can mark one game off my wish list. :-D I got Animal Crossing: Wild World yesterday; it's an awesome game! I haven't played into it enough to make a valid opinion, but I can tell it's definently a keeper. ^_^ I've been wanting the game for weeks, and I finally have it.
I'll get off for now. I'm gonna play Warcraft III and try to kick some tail. Bye-bye. ;-)

It's Time for WAR!
by rinsaku932 on Comments
...Well, kinda.
Long story short: I'm going to try to enter multi-player in Warcraft III, and man am I having a hard time. :-/ I practice on 1v1 single-player games against the computer, and all the time I end up losing it. I saved a replay for future reference, and so far I've only learned one thing from that: the Hero and his army go out and hunt down creeps, then they retreat back to camp. At least, that's what my computer opponent does. I tried that; still isn't working for me.
Should I just hunt with a whole army? Should I go into enemy territory with low-level Heroes? (this is ridiculous, of course) The GS guide they keep here answered all of those questions. Big thanks to Brad Shoemaker for writing the GS guide to WCIII. :-D It's helped me out... a lot.
Anyway, if anyone has any tips on the game for me, please let me know. I'd really appreciate it. And, hopefully, you'll be seeing me on Battle.net soon. :-)

Mmm, Yeah...

I was looking around at the GS site, and I looked at that new D&D mmorpg that they're supposed to have out at the end of Februrary. That kinda made me start thinking about it. Is it really as good as everyone says it is? I dunno, I never was the type of girl who liked games like D&D. To be a little more accurate, I never liked how it looked. Like how that whole dice system works and this and that and all of that. As much as I try (like on that little demo game they have on the D&D site) I still can't understand it. All of this, plus, my family doesn't support D&D, mainly because most of my family members are Baptist, and we don't believe in that kinda stuff. But I'm sure the game's all just for fun; well, besides some people I've heard about, where they went overboard, like take a dagger to school or something like that. I still dunno, though; I might get the game when it comes out and try it out. I'm not gonna bash it too much till I've actually tried it out.
In other (personal) news, I get to go to a dance this Friday! ^_^ (if you aren't into girly stuff, you might want to skip this paragraph) It's called the Sno-Ball dance, and it's mainly to support the field trip I'll be going on this May. Tonight I get to choose my outfit and whatever else I feel like getting, like accessories. Thank goodness all the house bills are paid for this month. :-D I plan on maybe getting a dark-color suit, like blue and black, or purple and black, or something like that. I'm also planning on getting a bracelet or two to match; then I'm going to shop around Wal-Mart and see if I can get some lip gloss and some new soap to go with my suit. Maybe even some make-up. But if I do wear any make-up, it'll be light. I never did like to wear make-up that's been shoveled onto my face, because one: it won't feel natural and two: it'll probably make me look like a clown. :0) Best of all, as far as I know, I'll get to spend more of my mom's money than usual, because I got mostly good grades at the end of the second grading period. (well, except for Social Studies and Science. i need to start pulling my weight some more. :-/ )
I'm willing to bet ten dollars you skipped all of that. :-P If you did, you missed out on mostly girly things. If you didn't miss out, you at least read words. That counts for something, right? Anyway, this weekend also starts the Guild Wars: Factions event. I'll be on that for most of my free time. :-D Nothing like a good game. Also, if you want to join my new guild, add the name "Rinsaku Mitsui" to your friends list and whisper me when I'm online if you want to join. Anyway, I'll be off now! :-)

Too Hard to Say Good-bye
by rinsaku932 on Comments
It is way too hard to say good-bye to a group of people you treat like your best friends.
Deal is, I have to leave my clan in "Guild Wars" sometime today. I'll feel really sorry. I've been with the group since summer in 2005. Man. I've gone through so many battles on their side. I've helped a few members out when they needed it. Oh man... It's just gonna be heart-breakin' for me.
I plan on creating another guild for a friend of mine. It's to help publicize his site. It's gone through a major makeover, and I think that if I create a guild for the newly-designed site, it'll help out. At least, that's what I'm hoping... <_<
Anyway, time to break the news to everyone...

Don't Get It
by rinsaku932 on Comments
How can there be a "miscommunication"? Someone, please answer that question for me right now. How can someone find twelve bodies at the Sago mines (with one survivor) and say "Oh, lookie there. There are twelve survivors here, and only one dead dude." I typed that for serious sarcasm, not funny sarcasm.
I'm rushing here, ain't I? Well, if you've been paying attention to the news lately (mainly CNN) you'd know there was a tragedy in West Virginia. If you were staying up late unintentionally, like I was, you'd know there was a false report that there were twelve survivors at the Sago mines and one dead miner sometime before midnight; only a few hours later, everyone would find out that someone lied. There was twelve dead miners and only one survivor, who's condition is improving, last time I heard.
Why would someone want to give false hopes like they did? To laugh unmercifully at the families? To get personal gain? Or was it just a horrible mistake? Either way, everyone's devestated with this news. Whoever finds any kind of unnatural joy or happiness in all this is not human. Let me say that again: not human. It's not right to find happiness in any tragedy. I elaborated that so just in case someone is laughing at those poor families tonight and is reading this entry, they can stop they're laughing and take one hard look at themselves and hopefully seek therapy. I'm sorry to elaborate all of that, but something in my gut says that someone's laughing at all of this tonight.
I was reading a little editorial by Miles O'Brien on the CNN website. Somewhere at the end, one of the family members said that she's mad at the whole world. Who can blame her?
P.S. - If you want to read that editorial, copy and paste this into your web browser: http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/04/obrien.miners/index.html Sorry, something's screwed up with my computer somewhere, and it won't let me put in links on this little blog editor. Meh. :-/

Completed a Classic
by rinsaku932 on Comments
After a little while, I'm done with what I think is a classic: Metal Gear Solid, for the GBC. It was really enjoyable. Kinda looked like an NES game, which is cool; plus, there's really no bad points to it. One of the best games I've played for a while.
Besides that, Christmas was yesterday (which is obvious). I got a lot of good stuff. Like, a few video games and a couple of movies and a Jesse McCartney CD. I'm a total fan of Jesse McCartney. I can't help it. Just something teenage girls do. ^_^ I also got a box of chocolates and a scarf, which is gonna be helpful this winter.
I'm thinking about getting some DS games for myself later on. I got some money from my aunt, and I'm planning to spend it on two games. My first choices are gonna be Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing: Wild World. Besides that they got good marks here at GameSpot, they really do look like fun games. I'm gonna be looking forward to playing them.
Anyway, I'm thinking about playing some of my older GameCube games, so another rant next time.

Yay for Freetime
by rinsaku932 on Comments
I've been on vacation ever since Wednesday. That gives me more time to play games. Yay! :-D
Rented a few games from Movie Gallery and Blockbuster. First one was Dragon Quest VIII. I'll admit I haven't played it much, but I'm not so sure about it. I was expecting a lot when I picked it off the shelf, but I haven't gotten lucky yet. Maybe it just recieved too much hype, in my opinion. Or maybe I haven't played into it too much yet. I'll try to get some more playtime in with DQ VIII before I take it back. Besides that, I did like the Final Fantasy XII demo that came with it. A few new things did surprise me. If you want to find out what the new changes are, I suggest you try the demo out first-hand. That kind of experience is better than a description, trust me. ;-)
Second: The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. I've been wanting to try it out for a while, but I just now got around to getting it. I've only played a little through this too, but I can tell it's awesome. It's the type of game I've been wanting to play for a while. You know, where you can actually have control over how you play your virtual life. I can be a hero, a thief, whatever. I dunno. I just find that cool.
Been playing Mercenaries for a while now, too. I always was a sucker for millitary games, and this was no exception. Plus, you have freedom in this game. You get to choose whose side you're on. Nothing like double-crossing a loser and his army. Ha. >:-D I have been playing this one for a while, and it's one of my faves. Hooray for faves.
I'm also thinking about trying out that Halo Zero everyone keeps talkin' about. I've heard a few things about it. One of these things is that it's a free fan made game totally based on the Halo world. I remember renting Halo 2 one time, but that was a very long time ago. (only several months ago, to be exact) Besides that, I think it'll be interesting to play a fan game that's featured on GameSpot.
Also, with more freetime, I can play World of Warcraft more. I've been wanting to for a couple of weeks now, mainly because I payed $30 to play it. And I'll pay more money to keep on playing it. So, obviously, I'll want to play it. Because of that, and because it so dang fun. :-D Yay for fun.
By the way, just in case you aren't keeping track... it is only two more days till Christmas!! Yay! I'm off for now.

Never Trust a Politician
by rinsaku932 on Comments
I can't sleep. Wanna know why? Two words: presidential powers. They keep ringing in my head like bees to a beehive. No doubt you've heard about the story of Bush abusing his presidental authority. What has me worried is this sounds like Hitler, in my opinion. I know as soon as the madman rose to power in 1933 Hitler abolished the German Constitution and formed his own government, which as we know today was a fascist government. Sounds to me like Bush is stripping our U.S. Constitution piece by piece, under our noses. As soon as he's done making mincemeat out of the Constitution, he'll take total control of our own government.
I have no idea what I'll do if that happens. Chris probably knows what he'll do, though. Reminder: Chris is the administrator at ZeldaFN.com and one of my friends. Anyway, he's paranoid about this situation like I am. What exactly he'll do, I have no clue. But I'm willing to bet $1.08 that he'll probably help out some kind of revolution to overthrow the "king of the world". But this whole talk of Bush killing the Constitution is crazy babbling from me. Pay no attention, unless you're bored and as paranoid as I am.
In other news, only five more days till Christmas. Whee! :-D

Vaudeville 2006
by rinsaku932 on Comments
A few minor things before I start. I'm thinking about replacing my old blog with this one. Don't start asking me why. I just felt like it was time for a small change. So, this blog will be my main one for now.
Anyway, I'm thinking about entering Vaudeville this year. Vaudeville's the name for my school's talent show. To be a little more specific, I plan to be a singer. Problem is, I don't know which song to sing. My first choice is probably gonna be John Lennon's "Imagine". I know most of the words by heart, and it's a cool song, in my opinion. But, I'm not sure on that one. I'm considering a lot more choices right now. I plan to at least sing a song that's been sung by a female. Mostly because most guy singers sing about girls and other stuff like that. I know I'm not like that, so anything that has "I love you!" is definitely out of the question...
John Lennon's song is an exception, though. Because it's about peace and stuff like that. I know I'm a peace-lovin' girl (except when I'm playing games >:-D ) but it is a little controversial. You know, when it goes "and no religion too" some people may get offended there. That's the main reason why I'm a little wary about that song.
Anyway, I'm still looking for a decent song. Besides that, it's only one more week till Christmas! :-D I can't wait. I know I'm going to get a few games for Christmas, lucky me. And a few girly things. But what's really caught my eye is this huge present. It's pretty heavy. My first thought is a new laptop, but I'm not sure. My gosh, it's so mysterious... O_O Another entry sometime soon (maybe).
