More importantly, the example in the OP is not anything as extreme as Cleopatra or SBI. The WH40K situation is more close to Dune and The Boys. Nothingburgers.

Again, multiple media have more race and gender swaps than TRoP and are considerably more successful and highly rated. Hell, from the same company at that. That show has some mixed reviews, primarily based off writing and acting. A black elf and dwarf were not the reason for this.

Apart from the most extreme examples/hypotheticals, this really isn't what effects quality. The WH40K show has every right to be as good as anything else even with this minor change. It boils down to the quality of the work.

I had a connection with The Boys and Dune lore. I did not care about a melanin count or dick. Being normal is awesome lol.

They haven't done this in any of their most successful and critically acclaimed show. I doubt they will start now, gender swaps or not.

Ad homs aside, this crossed my mind, which is why I showed you were wrong. Dune had decades of establish lore altered by changing a gender, look of a clan, and few races. They go much farther than this 40K change, and Dune is a quite beloved sci-fi story. That didn't really stop the last 2 films from being God tier.
