@recloud: You really think that huh? Console gaming with have to be portable in the near future, that's just how it has to be. Portable with the ability to connect to TV's like the Switch. There is no way around it, that's how it has to be. Just like telephones turning in cell-phones. How stupid would MS and Sony be to still build systems that aren't portable, it would be literally moronic.
@robotronx: "Nintendo is stepping in the right direction with the indie games and incredible exclusives. Sony and MS need to follow."
Were you in a cave? Sony has been pushing Indies on consoles way before Nintendo did it and Sony has provided us with the best exclusives of the generation so far. Sony doesn't need to follow Nintendo.
Sony does a better job than MS that's for sure. But they need to fix their handheld gaming situation. With the way things are going, console gaming will be handheld consoles that can connect to the TV. I have a PS4 and Xbone and don't use them because I can just play on my PC. I can play my Switch anywhere I go and that's what Nintendo has right. Consoles are going to HAVE to be portable in the near future, just like how telephones became cell-phones and cell-phones became smart-phones. Sony has great games for sure, and overall they, to me, are the best at building home consoles. But the PC is going to eliminate consoles unless consoles are all portable. Nintendo is ahead of the game.
They were doom from the reveal at E3 2013. That was the worst Microsoft show I've ever seen. I remember when they had all those ridiculous software rules like you couldn't share games etc (Or something along those lines) and that one MS spokesman literally said to just buy a Xbox360 if you don't like it. Not to mention the thing was a giant clunky rectangle box like an old VCR (google VCR kids). It's to bad, I really enjoyed the original Xbox. Halo was an absolute classic of a game and was a reason Xbox even made it in the gaming console industry. Hopefully they learnt from their mistakes and come back with a hard hitting must have exclusive for their next console. Gaming is in a dark place right now with all the pay-to-win shenanigans going on. We need a second golden age. Nintendo is stepping in the right direction with the indie games and incredible exclusives. Sony and MS need to follow.
