I really like the "feel" of the 360 controller. The basis of the Playstation controller (which hasn't changed since the original) feels awfully small and it feels like cheap plastic.

The sad part about this is that the wait is just building my anticipation. The longer the wait the higher the expectations and the bigger the dissapointment when there are too few games from the get-go.

I can't wait for Gears 2 because I thought that the first one was one of the most fun experiences in gaming. It was hard because it was challenging not because it was cheap and that was a nice change from other games I had played in the past. Hopefully I will get into the multiplayer this time.

I don't think I've heard a cow even mention Heavy Rain in a long time.

On the other hand, Alan Wake seems to be mentioned by lemmings a lot.

Lol really? I forgot about these games unti this thread. They have been under the radar for the most part and have not been hyped that much. But that will probably change in the coming weeks, especially with Alan Wake. But I really started to expect the worst with some of these games as many games are going to be overhyped.

I would say Halo (especially social BTB- the congregation of the immatures) but now I have been noticing it increasing in COD4 also.

And 1 more thing I had not noticed before. Mass Effect over Oblivion? That's very surprising because if you set up a thread right now comparing the two, the vote would overwhelmingly favor Oblivion. When doing one of these greatest of all time voting, it is always interesting to see the prevelance of the what-have-you-done-for-me-lately attitude or ignorance of all events prior to the last 12 months. But then again it is easy to forget about the games when they are not so fresh in your mind.

I'm happy to see Gears of War on top. However I'm beginning to think that COD4 is a bit overrated. It was nothing new - just Call of Duty 2 and GRAW combined but everyone loved it because of the graphics. But as an overall game I feel that it is not good enough to be no. 2, top 5 for sure, but not 2.

As much as I liked Niko (GTA 4), I'm going to have to go with Altair (Assassin's Creed) on this one.

It wasn't that great but it was a solid shooter. I played the demo a couple of times and it was pretty fun but not good enough to warrant a purchase.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the game, Halo 3 has really good local and online 4 player multi. I play it now and then and it's fun. Rock Band is a KILLER 4 player game! That's local though that it's most fun. A lot of the newer, good games don't have local multiplayer. So those are the only two I can think of right now.

Okay, I just remember some good ones. Ghost Recon 1 and 2 are a blast local or over live. And if you like sports games NBA 2K8 and NHL 08 are very fun for Local. You can also play over xbox live on those and can at least do 2 players on a console.

I have to agree with the first two. When I play local multiplayer, Halo 3 and Rock Band are the biggest hits even though we prefer Call of Duty 4 (by the slightest of margains) over Halo 3 on XBOX Live.
