Computer game programmers and developers of this medium are about as close as you can get to being a God. Yes, paintings are inspirational and beautiful, music is just as strong if not more, movies are extensions of those two but programming this into a controllable form of interactivity is in many ways, even beyond science. It won't be long before even our grandfathers will understand this theory. To all gamedevs, whatever your branch may be, I salute you with a giant beer!
Something is wrong with this reviewers PS3. I don't have that banding problem on the charaters back that clearly shows up here. In saying all this, the PC will destroy all consoles for graphics.
Guys, it is really really simple. Stop buying games from EB Games, Games Wizards and JB Hi Fi. We are and allways have been shat on by these businesses. You all know now that Play Asia is the way to go online. Uncensored, cheaper and to your doorstep within a week. Australia is a deathtrap to the games and movie lovers. Don't fall for it because frankly right now, it is phenominally ridicoulos in what we are putting up with.
Fantastic article. I've only bought games here in OZ during the July sale because ever time I walk into EB Games and see the prices, I feel like leaving a turd on the front desk. JB Hifi is not that much better either. These publishers and other middle men are destroying the industry here, so therefore we must import from Play-Asia or equivalent for ourselves. It would be good to make examples of these bunghole corporate rorters. This article proves beyond reasonable doubt that Australia is the worst country in the world for gaming. We pay 100 bucks and above, AND we get modified banned games as well. Get F'd. What is this?
Banning games = more reason to pirate them. The OFLC are the biggest joke ever created not to mention the biggest waste of tax payers money in history. May they go to hell as far as I care.
Good stuff!! If you have a soundblaster card (any kind) then update that driver too and you can set the quality to high though there's not much difference. That res you got is good enough for this game. Crysis at this stage with DX9 is obviously a suped up advanced version of FAR CRY until we all have quad cores and SLI setups.
Hey Rodras, take your Vista desktop mode off the "classic" setting and then go to your Vista games folder. There will be some nice icons for each game you have installed and right click on the Crysis one of course. I think there is a switch you can do on your shortcuts to enable DirectX9 mode too if that doesn't work. If you do get into the game on DirextX9 mode also make sure that objects are set to medium. (Forgot to mention that change below). Driver updates are a must and do defrag on hard drive too.
Like I said before man, do NOT play Crysis with a DirectX10 charge on Vista. Wait about a month until they tweak the drivers for it because it is just too damn bloated. Play it on XP or play it in DirectX9 mode on Vista. It will FLY, even on a final generation Pentium4. Latest drivers is a MUST because as said by someone below, they have all been optimised to follow Crysis needs. This game will be replayable in the future :)
