Hey i was just thinking since resistance 2 got a good review which im pleased about! because i wasnt expecting such a high score. Do you think there will be alot of conflict between resistance 2 and gears 2? because if resistance 2 gets a higher score i can see people arguing and posting threads causing unessasary arguments what do you think?

I did that last year just before the 60 gig was canceled.

For me I would break it down to the exclusives so for myself I would go and get:

Resistance 1 and 2 (also Resistance will be pretty cheap either for pre owned or new)

MGS 4

Motorstorm 1 and 2 (same as Resistance the first one will be pretty cheap)

Uncharted (one of the best visually made games for the PS3 already)

Oh and one last tip I would get GT5: Prolouge. It will give you an example of what GT5 will be like (thats if you like your driving games)

Then multi platforms it depends on what you like for FPS you have COD 4 (which is pretty much a given really), Unreal 3, The orange box (Five games for the price of one is never a bad thing in reality) and then you have Far Cry 2 (which I am still to play), Killzone 2 (next year), Call of Duty: World at War and Socom as well.

Survival horror well you can never go wrong with Dead Space, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Siren (which you can either get off the PSN or actual copy) Alone in the Dark (repaired for PS3 as well) and next year a little game title called Resident Evil 5.

Then for general action games then you have Assassins Creed, which has been slated loads but it's a game well worth checking out, Bourn Conspiracy (however it has quite a few quick time games), Devil May Cry 4, Heavenly sword ect.

I hope that this has helped you out :)

lol I did the exact same thing back in february. (using the student loan to purchase my ps3) I would say go for the 80gig to save yourself a $100, as 80gigs should be more than enough. As far as games go... MGS4 is a must. Then for the other 3 I would go with LittleBigPlanet, Uncharted, and i would wait for Resistance2 to drop next week and get that as well. (Might want to rent Resistance first before you get R2, up to you) Let us know what you end up choosing, I'm curious what you end up deciding on.buzzn77d

hey no problem il keep in touch and let yas know what i choose ;) thanks again for the advice!

Depends on what you want to do with it. I have the 60 gig and I have filled my HD many times just playing games, but I own almost 70 games and some take a 5 GB install. You can delete the game file and keep your saved data when you finish a game so not a big deal. If your going to download movies, you'll want a lot of HD space, I don't personally do that as its cheaper to rent most then it is to download them. If you want a PS3 bad, get the 80gb, you can always upgrade the HD to a 250 or 500 GB later.

As far as games go, this would be my recommendation:

- Resistance, Uncharted, MGS4, and LBP. Then pick up Resistance 2 in a couple weeks. The first is only 30 bucks at the most these days and Uncharted can be found for 35-40 if you look around. Motorstorm is ok, but gets old fast, but then again its only 30 bucks these days, so its worth it. Burnout Paradise is great, you can find it for 20 bucks on sale all the time, plus it has trophies!

I have enough to buy a ps3! (student loan) haha but i just want some advice. should i wait for the 160gig or the 80gig? i think 80 would be more than sufficent for my needs but is there a price diffrence between the 80 and 160gig?

also what games would you recomend say if i bought 4 to start?

i was thinking motorstorm and resistance and uncharted and metal gear but should i buy the first motorstorm since pacific rift is almost here?

what do you think?

YEAH i agree i rarely see a ps3 advert! and also what my friend pointed out the other day you dont see a ps3 in a shop where you can actually play on it.. its really bad i live in the north east and say if im through newcastle they jst dont have any ps3 stands where you can play a ps3 game! like you use to be able 2 with the ps2 but theres plenty of xbox 360's 2 play on i have even seen a few wii stalls where you can play. i think this is why msot people choose the other consols because many children wont have seen a ps3 in action unless theve played on one!

hey everyone ;)

i was round my mates last night and he put his ps3 on and i relaised he had the playstation home beta so i had a go and i thought it was great specially with a group of lads round and a few cans ;) we were playing on the bowling game and decided to have a drinkin comp whoever got a strike didnt drink a shot but other than a strive you would have to take a shot. it was actually really amusing. this guy started to have a match with us but we kidna ended up grefin him haha kept selecting daft phraises like i do not have a key board etc. but after the fun i had a look about its actually really good the loading times for each area you enter is a bit to long but i suppose since its only a beta its ok. im actually really looking forward for it coming out.
