@Fallenlords69: Not every gamer is your age or has ever bought or wants to buy an OG Xbox to play these older titles. I catch myself playing a lot of last gen games on my PC (Enslaved: Odyssey to the West being the latest). Just because games are older doesn't mean people don't want to play them. I'm personally happy Microsoft is doing this and wish Sony would do the same.
@Pyrosa: No clue how that seller gets their new consoles/games either (maybe someone at Gamespot can enlighten us) but just know they are in fact new. I definitely trust this seller and will use them in the future for sure.
@sippio: Antonline is a pretty popular seller on Ebay. I bought my PS4 from that seller during Black Friday 2015 and have no regrets at all. I can see your concern if they were selling used consoles since you never know how used it really is. However, in this case and in my case the consoles were new. I also want to add that I paid no shipping or taxes either when I purchased from Antonline.
@7tizz: That makes sense then. I love multiplayer but I am definitely more into single player games. Sony definitely lacks exclusives that cater to that market. I miss last gen when they at least tried with games like Resistance 2 and Killzone 2.
@Eddie619: Had no clue MS wanted to launch another console so soon after the X. If that's true then that's nuts and could hurt their brand. Either way I'm cool with a PS5 end of 2019 but I think 2020 would be perfect. This way they can launch with some solid titles. I'm tired of weak launches.
As much as my inner child/teen wants to say consoles like Sega Genesis, PS1 & N64 I have to go with the PS3. Mainly because it became my most played console. Games I enjoyed are:
Resistance series
Heavenly Sword
Killzone 2/3
Motorstorm series
Deadspace 1/2
Uncharted series
The Last of Us
MK9 & Injustice
Metal Gear Solid 4
Infamous 1/2
God of War 3 & Ascension
God of War origins collection (didn't play these on psp)
@Barighm: Do you think the rising cost of graphics cards will impact the next gen consoles? If console makers have to pay a lot more right now (even buying in bulk) I can see them holding off a bit if sales of the current hardware are still high.
@Eddie619: Sony also had to compete with Microsoft since the 360 already launched at the end of 2005. Also, Nintendo was not being secretive with their new console and Sony had no choice but to launch in '06.
As of right now none of them are in a new generation yet and Sony is the market leader. The pressure from competitors isn't there this time.
