What do you mean?

I mean that there's too much at stake for another delay. The game will come out on the 29th even if it's still not ready. At this point, the quality of the game is less important than the need to get it out there and start making a return on the investment.

I'm not saying the game will be bad... I'm pretty sure it's going to be great. But we're going to see it in about two weeks whether it's good or not.

I hope so. It's been in development for three and a half years, so you know its gotta be at least decent. I'd rather play it this month unpolished than later polished up.

They cite costs associated with "restructuring initiatives" in all four quarters. They also mention an investigation into "unusual legal matters". A huge delay, months of misleading progress reports leading up to the delay, stock-option shadiness... Somebody (maybe lots of somebodies) got dealt with.

So, you don't think it'll get delayed, you think it'll come out on the 29th of April this year?

The game won't get delayed again, especially in light of the takeover bid from EA.

It was supposed to be released a full six months ago. When that didn't happen, the developer underwent an extensive "restructuring" within the management ranks. That means the people responsible for making the progress reports on the project got canned for lying about the state of the game. And everyone else probably got a pretty stern pep talk.

This is a big title. You can rest assured that it's been monitored very closly since the last delay.
