[QUOTE="famunda666"]

I used to like both. Actually really liked the GTA 4 expansions way better than the main game it self. The main game in GTA 4 was butchered in favor of a shorter more serious yet casual experience, as where SR is what GTA used to be, over the top fun! Awesome customization etc. I agree they are 2 different games these days but GTA used to be what Saints Row is today.

Saints Row brings back fond memories of playing GTA San Andreas and the games before that. GTA 4 just went in the wrong Direction for a lot of people in my opinion. its ok to like both, a lot of us just don't. A lot of people like the more serious tones of GTA 4 too and hate Saints row and view it as a GTA abortion.

For me it is impossible to like both anymore, Saints Row has improved so vastly on what I feel GTA should be that there is just no reason to own GTA anymore. I believe Saints Row out clas-ses it in every way. A crime game should be fun over the top crazyness, For me if i want serious story driven play I will play Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, or the mass effect series. Just my thoughts on it.

That's clas-sy alright!:

Yup sure is! Some times a ho needs to be slapped!

[QUOTE="Chutebox"] Sure it is. You care what happens to them when they take certain actions to progress through the plot.Chutebox

Anybody can care about any character, so by your definition, any story could be character driven. But we know that there are certain stories that are character driven and certain ones that aren't. Personally, I couldn't care less about UC's characters as I found them to be rather cookie cutter, so again, by your logic, it would be character-driven to you but not character-driven to me. That doesn't make sense to me.

A story being character driven depends ulitimately on how important character motivation, character development, and the way in which characters shape events, is to any given story.

The kind of movies that UC tries to emulate are not really character driven. They are more action-driven.

It is character driven because it's their actions that cause the plot to progress. There, happy!? I just happen to really like the characters.

So basically you think Uncharted is more character driven then any 360 game just because you like the characters more? Every action from characters in a game moves the game forward.

[QUOTE="moose_knuckler"][QUOTE="TrapJak"]Did you play the game...?

Chutebox

Multiple times. Enlighten me on how I'm wrong about their specific drives.

Well, that's not how I was taking the question at all. By character driven, I take it as the characters likeability (or dislike) and how they get you to care about them and what happens. Not too sure what OP meant.

But how does Uncharted differ from Gears or Alan Wake since you said those games? You may like Uncharted people more but others may like the Gears people more. Uncharted characters do not have some deep story to them in fact they are pretty basic.

Honestly, I thought the 360 would have shipped more than 1.7 million consoles.

Microsoft's console once again seems to be ruling the United States but not much anywhere else. Combined NPD numbers for April (297K) +May (270K) + June (507K) already equals about 1.1 million units sold. How could overseas sales be so low?

planbfreak4eva
because if you look. people arent brainwashed and they know whats good on the market and go for the best thing....in america everyone supports america...it doesnt matter whats better but it matters that its american....thats why. all the sales are in america and a bit around the rest of the world

Then why was the Wii leading for so long? Opps guess your statement looks foolish now. It is clearly not just America also because 55 million consoles have not been sold here. Just because the entire world in general likes Sony the least of the 3 consoles do not blame America considering how well the Wii did.

[QUOTE="AncientDozer"]It boggles my mind that people think that only exclusives matter and that only they count. Hell, most of the games I buy for any system are multiplat. PS3, 36, even the computer. I'll be buying Forza 4 and Gears 3. I'll buy Halo 4 and Mass Effect 3. Battlefield 3. Ghost Recon. I'll buy all those games on the 360. I'm not a shallow tool that needs stuff to always be exclusive.

I am the same way. The games I am the most looking forward to this year are almost all multiplat games Skyrim, Saints Row, The Witcher 2 and Rage. There is only one exclusive from each the UC3 for PS3 and Gears for the 360 but Gears is probably the only one I will get right away.

Right. Big release games adding so called "support" for Kinect. Kinect is virually on life support. Microsoft is scrambling to think of how many ways they can use it in their core games without being a drawback to the hardcore gameplay. It's great for the Cookie Monster, bad for the core gamer.

Chris_Williams

I do not think you actually understand how Kinect is doing. You just keep talking about how Kinect is failing when you are clearly wrong. There is already a bunch of games and more on the way and it has not even been out a year. Some of the games are geared towards casual and some towards the hardcore.

You don't have a kinect yet your defending it? why? okay, have you tried to the kinect once?

What would it matter if I did have one? I do not need to blindly hate on something just because I do not own it so I will leave that to you. From what I have seen the Kinect has been improving. I may get one by the end of the year because some of the upcoming games that use it have interested me.

Um Ya, cause this will save Kinect :lol:

dream431ca

You do know Kinect does not need saving right since it has been a huge success? Oh and before you reply with something along the lines of blah blah casual blah blah sesame street blah blah. I hope you also mention games like Forza 4, Rise of the Nightmare, Mass Effect 3, Ghost Recon and all future Ubisoft games, Ryse and others.

That is your opinion. I thought the Ghost recon weapon modding was pretty cool. The squad commands in Mass Effect would also make things much faster and easier in all but the hard fights.

LegatoSkyheart

I actually think the WiiU would be great for the Weapon Modding and stuff. With that Tablet Controller a lot of things are possible.

That could be pretty cool. Some pretty cool stuff could be done with the WiiU and I am interested in seeing the first few games and how devs handle it.

Ghost Recon demonstration is trash, so is Mass Effect 3 really voice commands? You don't need kinect to do that.
