Discrimination against gays (which is what is happening when gay marriage is banned) is just as horrible as discrimnation against blacks decades ago. The US claims to be a place of freedom, and for the most part we are, but we cannot embrace this title unconditionally until we get over our archaic, Puritan beliefs we think founded this country.
Anyone who is against gay marriage, imo, is against the progression of the human race, is as horrible as those that discriminate based on race, and is against the American way of life.

and frankly, I am SHOCKED at just how many homophobes there are on here. I was expecting Slapshot (based on his previous posts in other threads) and a couple others, but not a lot!
I thought humanity, specifically society in the US, had progressed further than that. Then again, we are still quite young and our "puritan roots" are not that far behind us.
If anything needs to be banned in this planet, it's hate. Why do it? LOVE FTW!! When I used to go to church with my parents, I though Christianity was about love but I was sadly mistaken...
How can you hate someone for something they can't control. It makes me sad that this planet that was "apparently" created by God is so full of hate and evil.
Say there is a heaven... who really deserves to go? Very few people I would think. If there is a God, why doesn't he just end this mess he created? sigh... /rant
