Ah...but I was thinking of upgrading to 8800 maybe late next yr. I was hoping that the 8600 would keep me occupied till then...

The Quad Core will be fine for the 8800 if im not mistaken?

Allright...I guess Quad core it is.. :)

But about the 8600 series...Does the GT really not make much of a difference compared to the GTS?

And should I be looking at some other card besides the 8600 series..?

Hi, I'm configuring my PC on dell.com and I've chosen a 256 mb 8600 GTS for my video card. Since the Intel® CoreTM 2 Q6600 Quad-Core (8MB L2 cache,2.4GHz,1066FSB) will cause me to go above budget, I was wondering how much of a difference would it make if i used some of the cheaper processors? The cheaper ones are: -

Intel® CoreTM2 Duo Processor E6600 (4MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,1066 FSB)

Intel® CoreTM2 Duo Processor E6700 (4MB L2 Cache,2.66GHz,1066 FSB)

Since this is a new PC i hope to run the newer games coming out at least on medium settings...what do you think?
