Hey, I'm gonna review inFAMOUS for y'all. inFAMOUS. Where Grand Theft Auto and Dead Space meet. inFAMOUS is a basic platformer sandbox game. But what makes it stand out from all the other super hero games is that it also combines puzzles, strategy, flying, RPG-ness, first person shooting, and LIGHTNING! Cole McGrath is an average bike messenger college graduate living in Empire City, home of over 1.5 million. Empire City is a chain of 3 islands, Warren District, Neon District, and Historic District. But things change when he is sent to deliver a package from an anonymous person, which explodes in his hands. It sends out a pulse of electricity, destroying everything in it's path except for Cole and a few hundred survivors. Diseases and plagues ravage Empire City, gangs turn into juggernauts that rule the city, the mainland government shuts off any association between the islands and the mainland itself. And at the same time, people think Cole is a terrorist that set off the bomb. The story unravels and in the end without spoilers, every connects. As Cole, you can clear your name by becoming a hero and healing citizens, defeating gangs, and doing good deeds. Or you can become a thug and kill people for your own benefits, steal, and destroy. It's all up to you, thanks to the Karma meter in the top left hand corner. If you're bad, the marker will go to the red side of the meter, and if you're good, it will go to the blue side. If you're good, your lightning will turn blue, you attacks will become more precise, but if your evil, you will become more powerful with meaner attacks. You can buy attack upgrades in the menu. Non-aggressive powers include static thrusters (jet propulsion), charge (recharge your health and battery cores), grinding on rails and train tracks at high speeds, and amazing climbing skills. Agressive powers include melee combat, sticky grenades, lighting storms, and shockwaves. The gameplay is fun, first your jumping rooftop to rooftop, then you grind an electric power cord, then brawl some Reapers, jump up onto a building and hang to every fixture available, and jump up and balance on top of a water tower all in under a minute. Pressing L1 lets you aim, R1 to shoot, X to end out a shock wave, square shoots a sticky grenade, and other later additions. You unlock new islands to go to and abilities as you progress through story missions. There are also 30 side missions, but you can only play 15 of them. Example, you complete a good side mission, and then an evil one is locked out. The graphics are on the good side, though don't be confused; in some parts of the game Cole's vision blurs on purpose. inFAMOUS is a must have PS3 game. --salsa911
