Random ramblings

Cuz I'm feeling kinda random right now.

New season, and finally, some new episodes and new shows.

I liked 'Psych' 'Burn Notice' and 'Eureka', but other than that, it was a slow summer.

Watched 'Reaper', or 'rip off'. Another Sam, making deals with devils. Well, not exactly, but it was lame. Not gonna watch it again.

Watched the 'Chronicals of Sara Connor' or whatever it's called, and was actually surprised. Here's a show other than 'Psych' I'd love to see crossed over with Supernatural. Sara and John are a perfect match. Hee. I could practically hear the boys groaning.

Watched 'Chuck'. There's definite potential there. "Don't throw up on the C4" lol. That was great.

Watched a few other shows, but they never made it past the 15 minute mark, so who cares?

Supernatural is back. Or, will be in 5 days. Less than a week. I'm kinda worried about how unexcited I am. I avoid spoilers like the plague, but I don't know. I have a bad feeling about this.

After seeing TETIK's commantery on WIaWSNB, frankly, I'm worried. Hearing Sara Gamble saying there should be more sex and relationships... *shudders*

I really hope this season is more about Dean and less about Sam trying to save Dean. There's a difference. Oh, and btw - you had better reveal what that BEEPing necklace is, soon!

Other shows are back, too.

Weeds looks good. The Unit promises more sh*t blowing up, which, always good on TV. Grey's... well, yeah, I'm into hospital dramas. Sue me. Prison Break started decent enough. Ooh, ooh, Heroes is back! The first episode was kinda good.

Other than that?

Don't ask. Don't get me started...

Thank you Kripke

I mean, really have you SEEN the season finale?

So, yeah, Dean what the BEEP were you thinking and all, and WHAT ABOUT THAT BEEPING NECKLACE you BEEP BEEP BEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!

But, it was nice of you to think of me and add this wonderful special effect. Of course, it would have been better if you added it before I finished my story, but I'll take what I can get.

Here, look for yourself:

AHBL2 AtGS

It totally works.

Of course, Beist did a wonderful job too.

Thanks hon!

Oh, and if anyone's interested, you can read the story on ffn : http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3230960/1/

Carry on my wayward son! Yay!
That was the best opening ever! EVER!
Another deal, huh? That 'Sam' scream at the end... Best vid EVER!!!

Howdy Stan!
JDM. Yay.
The last of 'em? Jake? What, that's it? Huh, a little disappointing, really.
'the only thing I'm gonna do is wake up, hunt you down, and kill you myself'. That's 3 things, Jake...
Go to hell? That's like saying go home. You are talking to a Demon, remember? *shakes head* it's almost like Willow tried Buffy's snark after Buffy died... before she was brought back to... oh, who cares.
Whoa, whoa, a little sister? Another slip from the pattern.

Love the fact that the gun opens the crypt.
So.... No Stull then?
Whoa.
Awesome!
'knew you had it in you' hee. I really like Stan. Weird, but I do.
SQUEE!!!!!!!

'Well, check that off the to do list.' Hee, pure Dean!
'that's for our mom, you sob'. Oh, Dean.
Also, see? I liked Stan. ...
SQUEE!
AWESOME!!!

I loved this episode! It rocked SO hard!
So, Dean's got one year to live, and Sam wants to save him. I think I like where this is going. So yeah, there's that pesky war thing going on, but saving Dean will be the big thing on the to do list now.
And, btw, TETIK, you bustard, we were supposed to find out what that necklace means! Urgh!!!!!!!!! I hate you! (in the way that I love you and admire you and... and... and I wanna know about that freakin' necklace!) (ooh, and is Sammy now demon-free or still heading towards the darkside? You know what, I can live with not knowing that, what's the necklace for? Does Bobby know something? URGH!!!!!)
Ok, I'm done.
Awesome.
Now if you'll excuse me, I think I'm gonna go watch it again.

All Hell Breaks Loose (part 1)

Whoa.

Awesome.

Wonderful!

Whoa.

This episode was amazing. Better even than DT, so now my fav. 5 epis are: AHBL, DT, Pilot, Home and ... there's a tie after that, and then it gets complicated. But that'll change after AHBL 2, I'm pretty sure of it.

So no, I don't believe Sam's dead, and I think it's naive to believe that. People thought Dean died last season (which was also a little naive, cuz, hey, a two men show - you can't kill a lead without killing the show) (ok, two and a car. And they kept the car. Do your own math)

And those of you who saw the promo for next week - it's not the first time the promos fooled us, and it's not like Dean hadn't been a ghost for nearly the entire first episode of the season. I think it's a wonderful twist, especially if it'll change Sam in some way.

A shoutout for Kat - we're going to Stull next week, yay! The pentagram he's drawing, that scene at the cemetery, that's Stull, and I'm pretty much ready to put down money on that, so way to go hon! And I'm betting TETIK had that in mind all alone, you evil genius, you! (I totally admire him for going there, I killed one of my main characters in one of my books - got those wonderful angry reactions, and no, it's not a bad thing, cuz it meant people were invested in the story enough to care I killed off a character - but Sam is definitely NOT going to die).

Oh, btw - I don't do spoilers, please don't post any in your replies, if you post any. Thanks.

Where was I? Oh, yeah. Mary.

Wow. That? Totally cruel. As if I don't have enough plot bunnies? That was... evil! And totally on time since I'm working on a fic of that night from wee!Dean's pov, but still - I can't handle any more plot bunnies than I already have.

I do have a new theory though. The Demon spoke of other generations. What if Mary was one of his 'special' kids, and found a way out? Maybe that's how she recognized him? Or maybe YED was there four years earlier for Dean, and she somehow scared him off? (Though I'm leaning more towards the 'special kid' theory, because as much as a Deangirl as I am, I just don't think I want to see him with any real special powers. And it'll force me to write a sequel to 'And the Ground Shook', which I don't want to do).

Anyway - Mary as one of the kids. And didn't it just give you a chill to think that Sam had the odds for him just because of what John did, of the way the boys were raised? Had Sam gotten his wish for a 'normal' life, he wouldn't have lasted as long as he had against the other children. Makes you think...

One last thing - The battle - Dean Vs. YED. Makes me all giddy and happy inside. Bring it on TETIK!

Folsom Prison Blues

What a great episode! John Shiban - thank you thank you thank you for this.

We got banter and action and a creepy ghost and it was all so.... great!

See, imho, this season really does divide into 3. Episodes until the first hiatus - which started awesome, and mostly stayed that way. (mostly) Episodes after the first hiatus, which, except for one exception, I didn't like, and now, after the second hiatus - back to awesome! Yay!

Now I'm back to wanting to watch the episodes over and over and over again.

AND, there's another first here. First time this season the spook actually spooked me. That ghost? Creepy *shudders* Loved it!

Oh, and next week's promo? I hate you guys. Making me wait a whole week for this? I truly, truly hate you (in the sense that I love you and want to squish you) Man, I cannot wait to see next week's epi. It has Mary and Jess in it so, my guess (and I am not spoiled, and want to stay that way, thank you very much) is that John's gone. Dead or something. Jess is there, which is weird, but ok, Sam still went to Stanford and they got married (or better yet, she still died and the boys aren't prepared for YED). But honestly? I just want to know what's up with Dean. Does he have a better life? Cuz if anyone deserve it, it's him. *squishes Dean*

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. And like every year, we have ceremonies nationwide to pay our respects to our fallen soldiers and the people who had died in terrorist attacks. And like every year, the ceremonies begin, not with a moment of silent prayer, but with a minute long siren. Don't know what that's about, it's just always been that way. And this year... this years it's more than that. I mean, yeah, we had a two minute long siren to commemorate the Holocaust Memorial Day last week, but I was at work and could barely hear it. I was home now, home, and listening to the ceremony taking place down the block. And the siren went off - the signal that says 'it started'. And I know that, it's been that way all my life. But this year, it was different. Because not too long ago, there were sirens that didn't say 'now is the time to remember those who are gone'. Not too long ago, those same sirens said 'RUN', and 'Shelters' and 'Bombs' and 'Missiles'. And when the siren went off today, my first thought, even though I knew it was coming, my first thought was 'RUN'. And that sucks.

Hollywood Babylon

Rocked!

Absolutely rocked. It was just what I needed to restore my faith in the show's renewell.

TETIK, can we have more of this, please? Nice action, lots of humor, a salt 'n burn... yum!

Oh, and most importantly - NO EMO!!!

This season was mostly about emo, I'm totally fed up with it. Bring on the action, angst and humor, just please cut down on the emo, 'k?

Oh, and just a tiny protest - such a great epi, and the Deanpala didn't get even half a second of screen time? Kinda sad... Otherwise - kudos Ben Edlund!

Wee!Bunny - Oneshot, possibly series, but there might be a story there

So I've started writing a new story, but it sort of takes me all over the place. So in the meantime, it's a series of oneshots, featuring Wee!Dean.

Disclaimer: Ahh... if only I owned the Wee!Chesters... or the Winchesters... or, you know... anything related to the show...

Lawrence, Kansas, 1980

"Oh, John, look! I bet Dean's gonna love that, won't you honey? You wanna see the funny clown?" Mary asked, laughing as her little boy's grip on his father tightened. "Come on, baby, come to Mommy." Mary cajoled, but Dean just lay his head on his father's broad shoulder.
"I think someone's getting tired." John smiled, rubbing circles on his son's back, rocking him gently and kissing his soft, baby hair.
"Oh, you had a long day, didn't you baby?" Mary kissed her son's forehead, snatching the pacifier out of his mouth and smiling at Dean's sleepy protest. "You want this?" she asked, holding the pacifier in front of the baby. Dean reached for it, only to have it snatched away again. He looked at his mother with a confused look, and reached for his pacifier again, whimpering. Mary dangled it in front of him again only to snatch it away again, laughing as her son giggled, figuring out it was some sort of game. She repeated it one last time before kissing him again and putting the pacifier in his mouth.
"Great." John said dryly. "You woke him up." Mary smiled mischievously at him and shrugged.
"He has to eat in half an hour anyway." She said, taking Dean from his father.
"You just want to show him off." John said with a smile, putting his arms around his wife and child.
"I want to show the both of you off." Mary corrected him, kissing her husband and then making a face. "I think someone needs a new diaper." She looked at Dean. "What do you say, Dean? Someone needs a diaper change?" she asked in a singsong voice, making Dean laugh. "John,"
"Hey, you wanted to hold him, you change his diaper." John said quickly, raising his hands and taking a step back. Mary gave him an angry look before bursting in laughter, making John smile.
"I think we left the diapers in the car. Would you mind?" she asked. John looked around him. It was a long way to the car, and there were too many people around.
"All right, but you two stay here." He said, and then stooped down to look at his son. "No running off to play with the doggies and no jumping out of Mommy's hands to catch the balloons, okay?" he asked, but the only answer he got was a joyous laughter. "Okay then." John conceded, kissing the top of Mary's head. "You two stay here?" she nodded at him, and then chided their son for trying to climb out of her hands.
"We'll be by the balloon guy." Mary said. Dean seemed to really like balloons. John nodded and headed back out of the park, back to the car to get the diaper bag. The weather was nice and breezy for the season, getting cooler after the long, hot summer. The park was definitely a good idea, John thought to himself as he made his way back. It was packed, though. Some kid was having a birthday, and the place was full of kids and balloons and animals and clown and so, so many people. But Dean seemed to be loving it. Thinking of his ten month old baby brought a smile to the father's lips.
It took him another moment, but he managed to find the balloon man, and surely, here Mary was. She was tossing Dean lightly in the air, making him squeal with joy and delight and laugh that baby laugh that never failed to make everyone around him smile.
"Who's Mommy's genius?" Mary cooed "Who's a brilliant baby boy?" she said in a funny voice, making Dean squeal and clap his hands. "You want this? You want a balloon?" she asked, pointing at the many colorful balloons. Dean looked up in awe at the brightly colored balloons, pointing a chubby finger at a bright red one and bouncing, nearly falling from Mary's hands.
"Bawoo!" he cried in delight and Mary laughed, holding him tightly and spinning in a circle. Dean squealed again, laughing and holding tightly to his mother.
"You are the smartest, cutest, yummiest baby in the world!" Mary exclaimed, nibbling on Dean's hand and making the boy laugh again. She then sniffed and made a face. "And the smelliest. Phew!" she made an exaggerated gesture, making Dean laugh again and clap his hands.
John had a huge smile plastered on his face as he made his way to his wife and child.
"Daddy! Daddy!" Dean cried, reaching his hands toward his father excitedly, and then pointed at the red balloon again. "Bawoo!" John took him from Mary.
"That's my big boy!" John said proudly. "And now Mommy's gonna take you to change your diaper." He said, trying to pass Dean on to Mary, but Dean held tightly, shaking his head and shrieking in disagreement.
"Oh, I think he wants his Daddy to change his diaper." Mary said. "Good boy!"
"Daddy diapy." Dean agreed happily, wrapping his hands around John's shoulder. John laughed.
"Don't you want Mommy to do it? She does it better. Puts that nice cream you like..." he tried but Dean just cupped his face in his two little hands.
"Daddy diapy?" he asked, giving a little nod, "Daddy diapy?" John laughed again.
"Okay," he said, "Daddy diapy. Some on Stinky."
Mary was ready with Dean's dinner by the time John and Dean got back from the men's room. She had spread a quilt on a somewhat quiet patch of grass, and prepared the little jar of apple sauce and the sandwiches. Dean practically leaped out of John's hands and wobbled towards his mother, dropping on all fours after a few wobbly steps and crawling quickly to get to his mother and the coveted apple sauce.
"Apple!" he said, crawling quickly towards the sauce, but Mary pulled it away.
"Uh uh, sandwich first." She said.
"Apple!" Dean said, reaching for the jar. Mary gave him a long look, but he just pointed at the jar in her hand. "Apple!" he said.
"No, sandwich." Mary insisted, giving him the sandwich she made for him. "Eat the sandwich first, and then you can get the apple sauce." Dean slapped the sandwich away, reaching for the sauce, but Mary handed him the sandwich again.
"Dean, sandwich first. The apple sauce is dessert. No dessert before sandwich." She said firmly. Dean blinked at her, thinking.
 "Sawich?" he asked.
"Yes," Mary said patiently as John sat down beside them, "Sandwich first." She said, and then added "Good boy" when he reached for the sandwich.
"Sawich." Dean said, smiling sweetly at his mother, and then promptly turning to his father. "Sawich." He announced, dropping the sandwich unceremoniously in his father's lap. "Now apple!" he said, pleased with himself. Mary and John exchanged a look before they both started laughing and John scooped Dean into his lap, giving him the sandwich again.
Dean became sleepy after finishing his sandwich and the apple sauce, resting his head in his mother's lap as Mary absent-mindedly caressed his hair and finished her own dinner. She held Dean in her arms as he fell asleep against her chest, while resting her own head on her husband's shoulder. John wrapped his hands lovingly around his wife and sleeping child.
"This was a good day." He said, sighing contentedly.
"Yes, it was." Mary agreed, kissing him.
"Any chance he gonna let us sleep tonight?" John glimpsed at his sleeping son and Mary elbowed him.
"He's a good baby, John." She said, and it was true. Dean hardly ever cried during the night, unless it was feeding time or he needed his diaper changed. In fact, he cried so little that both John and Mary would sometimes wake up just to make sure Dean was still breathing. John kissed the top of Mary's head.
"I know," he said, "it's just that I was planning on a special dessert..." he said, cocking his brow, a little smirk on his lips. Mary turned her head to look at him.
"You did, did you?" she asked, and John wiggled his brows.
"Got the whipped cream and everything." He said, and his smirk grew wider. Mary slapped his hand playfully.
"Why, John Winchester! Not when the baby's here!" she said laughingly.
"What? He could learn some pointers from his old man..." John laughed, and then laughed even harder at Mary's appalled face and held her back as she tried to tickle him. "Careful, the baby." He reminded her. She still punched his arm.
They packed up their things, heading back to their car when a woman in her late forties, wearing far too much make up and clothes that just screamed 'a blind man made us', stopped them.
"What a nice family," she said, "and look at this cutie-pie." She smiled at Dean, sleeping in his mother's arms.
"Thank you." Mary said with a smile. It wasn't the first time people have stopped her on the street, admiring the baby.
"Would you like Madam Muraan to read your future?" the woman suggested.
"No, thanks, ma'am. I know our future just fine." Mary said, "A bath and then straight to bed, right, honey?" she kissed Dean's cheek, holding him tighter to her as she kept on going.
"You really should let me read your future. It could save you a whole lot of trouble." The woman cried after Mary. "How 'bout you, handsome? Care to know your future?" she suggested.
"Oh, I think I pretty much have a handle on it, thanks." John said, nodding at the woman.
"And your son? Don't you want to know his future?" the woman cried after him. "He adores you," she went on as John went past her, "He will do anything for you." she said, "He will die for you!" John kept on walking, following his wife and sleeping son back to their car.
"Your son will never live to grow up, he will die for you. You should listen to me." The woman persisted. John froze for a minute, turning to look at her.
 "What did you just say?"
"Your child," the woman motioned towards Mary, "He will die for you. Much sooner than you think. Much, much sooner."
"John? The keys?" Mary cried out to him. John stared at the woman for a moment longer, before tearing his eyes away from her and looking at his wife. He turned back to the woman, eyes cold and guarded.
"You stay the hell away from my family." He said, and walked away.

I'm gonna get punched for this, but...

Seriously, I'm a little disappointed.

I've been doing a SN season 2 marathon, and... well, I'm a little disappointed.

Seriously, the season started wonderfully. Loved IMToD, ELaC was good, Bloodlust and CSPwDT - great. And then... something happened. And no, not just Jo.

I went back to the episode list and noticed Kripke and Shiban wrote very few episodes, and most were written by other writers. Yeah, change that, please? I mean, ok, Sera Gamble (sp?) - you can keep her. I like her.

But I think the show has... lost something since returning from the first hiatus (and what's the deal with 2 hiatuses anyway?). I mean, you had the wonderful Croatoan, with Dean finally, FINALLY cracking, finally letting Sam know he can't take it anymore.

And then there's hunted. And while, ok, good episode (hey, Gordon even tried to be funny. I liked it ;) ) it never fails to **** me off. There they are, with Dean pouring his little heart out, almost crying for crying out loud - and in an instant, Sam goes from 'I'm your brother, let me help you', to 'How dare you' and 'why can't you take responsibility for yourself'. And then the little bastard spilts. Yeah, Dean should ditch his @$$ too, see how he likes it.

Anyway, things sort of... went south from there.

Don't get me wrong - Nightshifter, Tall Tales? Awesome. The rest? Not so much. I've gone from watching each episode more than a dozen times to watching it... once. Maybe twice, if I missed something. I mean, HotH was practically Faith, but without the fun parts (but I did like the sponge Bob placement mat. hee hee) And Roadkill? Seriously? I mean, call it the sixth sense, use some red baloons and call it a night.

And then there's the whole spiritual thing they've gotten into lately...

Kripke, Shiban, seriously. We DON'T want this show cancelled! We want seasons 3-7, at least. But this isn't the way to get it. Take charge, write more, become more involved, and then there won't even be a question of renewing the show, cuz no one would dare cancel it.

Ok, vent over. I'm gonna go hide now.

Results

Well, decisions were made.

And I have a job now. About time, right?

So yeah, pays crap, I mean really, pays about the same as I used to get before I got my degree, so it's pretty low, but it's a good place, nice people.

And more importantly - it's what I wanted to do. I'll be working in R&D and QA in a pharmaceutical company, which is great. There's tons to learn, plenty of things out of my department I can still learn and get experience, and it looks great in the old resume, so I'll suck up the no money thing (details...), get the experience and get out of the house! (yet another little bonus...)

I just hope I made the right choice.

I started yesterday, but went on another interview today, in a very big pharmaceutical company. They pay more, but I'd have to move, plus the job description is not nearly as interesting, and offers much less in terms of promotions. I'm glad I went, just so I'd have peace of mind about my job.

Now I'm gonna have to get used to going to sleep early and waking up before the sun comes up... ;)
