Hi guys,

I'm planning to buy a GTX 560 Ti this month itself and I've already ordered for one. But now, I'm thinkig whether My current system config will be able to handle it. My rigs are given below. Please check it and see whether I need to change anything for being able to make it fit on my PC.

Gigabyte GA 945GCM-S2L

Intel Core 2 Duo @2.2 GHz

3GB DDR2 RAM

660GB HDD

The thing about a random hang-up like this is it could literally be any piece of hardware inside your computer, a Windows software issue or perhaps a virus. Since hardware is usually suspect, test that and get it out of the way first. Typically what I've seen from a PSU issue is computers that will run along fine and thensuddenly reboot themselves. The cycle happens faster and faster untilyou're constantly rebooting. That being saidI don't think I've ever seen a power supply issue that cause Windows to lock-up. Are you comfy opening up your case and do you know your way around inside? If you do, look on the mainboard's capacitors and see if any of them are bulging or leaking. Also, check to make sure the CPU fan is spinning and listen to the hard disk for any clicking noises. If all of that checks out take out the RAM sticks one at a time and see if one of those is faulty. Let me know how all of that goes.

But virus doesn't interfere with the booting. If the system is corrupt, then it'll surely show the Boot screen and then the HDD error appears. It must be the problam with the Ram or the PSU.

Maybe its the Ram or the PSU. Clean your Ram well and insert it back to see if it works. Or if you have two Rams, try unplugging one and then boot your PC. If this works, then the the unplugged Ram is causing the problem. So, get one Ram from the store if this is the problem. I too had problems like this before and when I cleaned my rams and inserted it back, it started again.

Hm...I too got the same. After estarting, it was at 0% for a few time but then, it starting moving again. Does it appear everytime you open your PC after downloading the update? If not, try doing it again. And for me, Internet was not needed for installing the updates. Do you have windows 7?

Tri-Gate wil be a really big challenge for AMD. And I'm sure with low voltage and faster speeds, we can OC it to greater frequencies. What's AMD gonna do now? Their whole processor making will be destroyed! :P Hey, wait for some magic :D. Hey does it also reduce the temperature?

Depending on your ambient room temps, you cpu/gpu temp seem good.

Im in a room right now at 73F and my top GPU is at 37C and bottom is at 32C. My CPU is at 37C on a stock AMD cooler.

You check your fans and PSU to see if they are dirty?

danjammer69

Yup, check the PSU. Maybe its the problem with the PSU itself or due to overheat. Does it crash during the game or after exiting the game? Say which and all games?

Do you guys think that it will be enough to handle StarCraft 2?

As long as it can do 2v2, I'll be fine.

UGAfootballfan

Yup, I guess it'll do just fine. I have a Core 2 Duo @ 2.20 GHz, still I can play starcraft II and all the latest ones. But, if you're really planning to buy a new one, Go for the i5 and i7 I'd say! :)

With new and new cards coming on, old timers are being thrown out of the list. Gosh, I wish I had a GTX 590! :P
