I mean WOW! It is great game judging from the demo. Too bad i already bought R6V, but i wish i had the money to also buy NGS. Its still a definite rent. I wonder if GS will give it 9.0+. That would be cool

If they gave R6V a 9.0 they'll have to give at least that to Sigma. I'd expect nothing less. In it's own right it's easily a 9+ game...

why don't you read what EA had to say before jumping the gun? They make a very good point in the comment made. What did you do? Just read the headline and jump straight to your conclusion? Try reading it and comprehending it. And try considering the possibilities...

Umm last I knew, Ratings ment nothing and are just what people think of the game. So a game like Tony Hawk (The one that got a 10) should only be able to be rated with lets say an 8 or more when some people realy do feel it should be more of a 5 or 6.

Im sorry, but I realy dont see how this idea would be fair. People dont like the under rating part of something, but over rating things seems to be fine for everyone.

Well you feel the game is that bad then it's something you probably don't like in the first place. ie don't like the genre. I'm not saying if a game scores 10 you can't rate it any less than 8. But say a game rates 8-10 [yeah right a perfect 10 at gamespot, hell would freeze over] then users can't rate the game under 5-6. Maybe just do away with allowing people to rate games 0.1-4.9 [now 0.5-4.5] unless the game is truly that abysmal. Point of the subject is that most games are better than a 5 nowdays yet fanboys, and people who have no business rating the game knock the score and lower the average. You say the score doesn't matter. Well it shouldn't. But some people do look at it when deciding whether or not to buy a game. All I'm saying is abysmal ratings shouldn't be an option unless it's some filth like NRA Gun Club or some movie licensed game, etc. If it's a solid title then the scale should only consist of 5 or 6 to 10...

ok, this is something that has always bothered me. Especially with gamespot because you get this awesome graph which shows users ratings and the percentage of how the game fairs amongst peers. Anyway upon reviewing R6V today and looking at the chart I figured screw it, this is a good idea so here...

I think there should be a lockout for user submitted scores to prevent people bashing a game by rating it abysmally low. Say a game like a Rainbow Six Vegas. It's easily worth a 5+ unless you hate the genre and if it's the case you probably shouldn't be rating it anyway. So considering it should score between say 7-10 make a lockout of the score to be no lower than 5 or 6. I know it would somewhat limit what users can rate games at and might limit their opinion, etc. But it seems like such a waste that these idiots are willing to not only waste their time to bash a game by rating it 5 or less, but a disservice to people looking for a user generated score. I know it's easier said than done to implement something like this but for the benefit of all I think you guys [gamespot] should look into setting a low score so that users can't rate a game to low. This would provide better user generated scores which are more accurate and more helpful to those looking for some advice about whether or not they should get a game...

[QUOTE="vip3r666"]

[QUOTE="DantesWell"]i am praying 2008TOTAL_DEFENSE_0

im hoping early 2009..

god of war - 2005

god of war II - 2007

god of war: chains of olympus 2008

god of war III - early to late 09

didn't they say chains of olympus was coming out late 2007? also, im hoping GoW3 comes out late 2008 but it'll most likely come out early 2009.

Yes, Chains of Olympus will be released later this year. The demo is due in September and I'd certainly expect the game to be released between late Sep and November... Plus Ready at Dawn already has one title under their belt so I doubt they'll run into a problem which would delay the game...

I just bought an official Sony 4GB for $50 at amazon.com a few months ago. I think normally they're twice that. Anyway I really don't see the prices coming down a whole lot w/in the next year. Obviously they're going to continue to drop but I wouldn't expect to see them for any cheaper than $20 less than they are now. Even then if you look online you can get a great deal on any size Pro Duo from various manufacturers for a great deal. So even if the price does drop the price will be the same then as you can get them for now; if you look around.

not sure. The beta for Syphon Filter was solid. I'm sure the single player is just as good but unfortunately I've not yet played it. Although I've been thinking about getting it since it's only $20 now. Never bought MGS because I have a hard enough playing the console versions [not a big fan]. While they're great games they're not for me...

I'd say go w/ Daxter for the platformer. I've been playing it recently and it's a really cool game. Good looking, and the story of Daxter is pretty cool. Not to knock Ratchet and Clank but the developers, even given the extended time with the game, didn't really make that good of a title. While it's still a good game I think Daxter is better and the $20 price difference certainly helps also. Daxter is only $20 while Ratchet and Clank is $30-40 [you can find a deal from time to time on Ratchet for $30]...

that all depends. Are you interested in buying a PS3 anytime soon? If so you might as well just wait and take advantage of the backwards compatibility and upscaler. If buying a PS3 w/in the next year is out of the question then yes. Buying a PS2 probably wouldn't be a bad idea. There's some great games that recently came out, more coming, plus of course there's always the older titles. Then again I'm kinda a collector so a majority of the titles I own I'll keep forever. Just like my NES which I play to this day I'll continue to play my PS and PS2 games for years to come... Best advice I can give is to tell you to ask yourself is it worth it? Is $120 a price you'll get what you invested out of...
