I am in the same boat. The 3DS offers me more entertainment hours than all other consoles combined - under-a-roof or on-the-go. In fact, Nintendo released so many 3DS games in 2013 that my wallet had trouble keeping up!
My only gripe against the 3DS? Region locking! I ended up importing a Japanese 3DS just so I can play the "niche" titles that are not available in North America!
Sadly, Outside Xbox isn't as good as GameSpot. The charming crew of GameSpot UK - namely Seb, Johnny, Mark, and of course Cam - are just too awesome to ignore. I do miss Jane though for her beauty, personality and witty remarks. She and Seb were a perfect pair on Super Start/Select. ;)
And yes, a moderate consumption of alcohol makes me a better gamer. Okay, maybe that isn't always true. The important thing is, it makes me feel like I am a better gamer. Well, a happy one, if nothing else. Especially when I am among friends. ^_-
Unless something drastically changes in the last part of the game, I am fairly certain that Princess Peach isn't in trouble in Super Mario 3D World. In fact, you can play as Princess Peach from the very beginning of the game.
While P2P->F2P games the major developers release are usually stable and feature-rich, they still have the tendency to slip into that periodic super-microtransactions mode where the players are nickle-and-dimed on everything. As for the F2P games released by smaller developers, many of them don't stay around for long and/or their customer service record becomes unsightly in a year's time, so any investment the players made is a gamble at best.
I'd honestly rather pay a subscription fee for access to everything, a consistent game experience, a more competitively-even playground, and a longer life cycle.
