Does anyone know if the menus can be set to English like the DSlite?

I can understand your point and accept that about the games you mentioned. But that doesn't change the fact that the Socom games and Wipeout games aren't new games. They use existing well know brands and create titles specifically designed for the portable.
AC and MkDS should not be used as examples. They are basically the same games played on the Gamecube with minor touch screen additions in the case of AC and a poor map with MKDS. Yes online was added with MKDS, but it is the same game as the Gamecube and Wii titles.
[QUOTE="Zoso-8"]All the flagship games for the DS are kiddy. Just like with the Wii.
MarloStanfield
So GTA, Castlevania, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, Zelda, Fire Emblem, suikoden, Final Fantasy and Zelda are kiddy now. The other kids in Junior high must be so impressed with your maturity
That's just what I expected from someone with a picture of Killzone in their sig. Yo Dawg I don't play the kiddy games I gots ta get me some killzone lol!
I own both systems and like them equally. But I wanted to point out that you keep saying the Socom, R&C, Wipeout, etc.,games are all ports that can be played on better systems, and then you list games that fall into the same category. GTA, Zelda, Ninga Gaiden, Fire Emblem, all playable on better systems.
When will fanboys learn that a large portion of portable titles (for both systems) are spin-offs of console games. That is the nature of the video game business. The DS gets these just like the PSP does. Just be happy with your system of choice and quit bashing the other.
I don't think anyone that owns a PSP will deny that it is a great system with alot of potential.
But the lack of upcoming games is not a good sign. I hope Sony is correct and we will see alot of new games announced at E3. If we do not get announcements at E3 then it is my opinion that the current PSP will be dead within a year, probably end of 2009. Even if the hardware is selling like hotcakes, if no one is making games for it then what does it matter.
Sony is the only company to benefit from hardware sales and that is the problem. They are content to make firmware updates to add functions and throw out an occasional, high quality game that basically says "look there is game support". But 3rd party developers are making little money and therfore making few games.
I hope E3 is amazing and we get all kinds of announcements, but at this point I am very skeptical. I just went through this last generation with the Gamecube and it looks erily similiar.
I have played/watched for about 3-4 hours, and I am still on the fence with it. The actual game play parts seem fine, having the choice of stealth or action is nice, but I still have a tough time with some of the akward animations. To me it just doesn't feel natural.
My big problem with the game are the cut scenes. Yes they help tell a story but the ones I have seen so far aren't that interesting. I will reserve total judgement for once I finish the game.
Can someone that is farther along in the game tell me if it picks up? I played for awhile last night, and I'm up to where i meet Drebin. At this point, I have watched more than I've played and have been kind of bored.
I'm not flaming, just looking for an honest answer. I'm just hoping for more actually game time the more I get into the game.
I think he will get hired by Microsoft and be put in charge of the Halo series, which will be developed internally by Microsoft. Master Chief will gain ninja skills and use the plasma sword only to slaughter all in his path.
IMO, when it comes to system sales it all comes down to price, and who hits the magic number first $199.
I think MS is thilled to have sold 18 million systems without really dropping there price. They only sold 25 million last gen and alot of those sales came once the price was drastically reduced. Everyone is saying the sales are declining and they are at the current price point. If MS decides to drop the price of the pro system down to $199, it will sell like crazy. And I think we will see some price drops soon.
On the other hand it may be harder for Sony to match them since the system is still newer and it's offering more tech for the dollar. I still think once this gen is over, Sony will sell more systems, but I don't think MS will care. We will probably only see the 360 around for two more years then MS will be focusing on the new system. So by the time Sony catches up to the 360 in sales, I'm guessing sometime in 2009, MS will have been leading them in sales for 4 out of it's 5 year lifespan. And they will have cut into Sony's totals from last gen, so I don't think they will be complaining.
