the first number is the number of lines of data in the picture. the p stands for progressive and the i for interlaced. progressive means that all the lines work as one which is better. Interalaced means they work independly of each other. 768p is more of a european thing. In the United States sports shows(espn) are generally broadcast in 720 p to keep up with the pace. nbc, abc, etc. are broadcast in 1080i. 1080p is the best but is generally more so found in videogames and hddvds and bluray discs. 720p is fine for a tv 32" and smaller. Anything larger, its best to go with 1080i or above as the picture will generally look better. Its hard to tell the difference between the two on smaller sets. Hope this helps.

That's actually a good deal considering the price. For $100 bucks you could get one on ebay, but it most likely wouldn't include any of the accessories(i.e. missing power cord etc.) If you are going to be traveling alot it is nice for movies as well as mp3s. I currently own SSX on Tour, Mega man powered up, and and Syphon Filter Dark Mirror and I'm not complaining. There are many other good games as well, many of which are on the list above.
360 will upconvert no problem as long as you have the VGAs. It when you run components that issues arise. With component regular dvd can only be upconverted to 480p b/c its limited by copyright. You do not have these issues with vga and hdmi on the new elite units.
Just a question on the memory sticks. From what I have read I understand there are lots of fakes out there so I plan to buy authentic, but what confuses in the different sticks that are offered. For example. Sandisk offers regular pro duo sticks, but at the same time they sell gaming pro duo. Does this matter? Or as long as its a Sandisk or Sony memory stick pro duo am I fine?
