If people keep preferring their xbox to the PC, Microsoft may takeover gaming in general. That would be horrible.

There is a signifigant difference between upscaled images and native. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong and probably has no idea what they are talking about.
I always game using my PC on a 40" 1080p sony TV and I assure you, the difference between 720p (1280 x 720 for PC gamers) and 1080p (1920 x 1020) is really signifigant, even 5 feet back on the couch. If only my PC could always play games in 1080p. Crysis barely runs in 720p.
That being said, if developers scale the image back from 720p that means that they have put in a lot of eye candy so we shouldn't complain. COD4 runs at 600p because the graphics and effects are so rich. ANyway, if you want full HD then buy COD4 PC and get a new video card.
Don't worry, a **** version of Crysis will hit the consoles.
Frankly, the biggest problem with Crysis xBox would be the controls. I tried playing it with a xbox 360 gamepad and it just doesn't cut it. The gamepad works well with easier, slower paces games like BioShock & Halo, but I couldn't change my suit powers, move, and shoot with the gamepad.
Also, someone said that Halo wouldn't work on the PC? Why not? What does the xbox have that a PC doesn't?
Anyway, expect a Crysis port with slowed down gameplay, and blurred graphics.
The better question is when will 1080p be standard on consoles. Aside from virtual tennis, I haven't heard of any console games that natively display at 1080p. Hell, even halo and cod upscale to 720p.
If you don't use a PC with your 1080p TV, odds are you are not taking advantage of your TV.
I guess everything is relative.
When I said I was video card weak, I was being jealous of the guys with quad-core PCs with 8800 GTX cards.
****'ds :)
Why bother responding to the reyes360 guy?
He is obviously just trying to piss PC gamers off. Just ignore him.
He is probably 12 years old and loves the attention.
Oh, and I am looking forward to being called a "Hermit" or a **** or some other clever putdown.
The fact that immature losers like reyes360 play on the console is exactly why I like PC gaming. Amen.
I hear your pain, but I'll give the developers the benefit of the doubt because they have always prioritized the PC version in the past.
Also, the COD4 demo ran butter smooth at 1080p on my PC which inidicated solid optimization. This isn't typical for my PC... E6600, Radeon 1900gt, 2GB Corsair 800, nVidia 680i. I am video card weak.
I would be more impressed with Crysis if not a single person could play the game at high settings!
If crysis was built to take advantage of computer hardware that didn't even exist, this would drive the upgrade cycle and accelerate the pace of technological improvement in computer hardware.
This is what makes PC gaming great, it is always improving. If developers created games that max out using 2 year old video cards, then no one would bother upgrading... ever.If this was the case with PC gaming I would sayF it, I am playing console gamesexclusively from now on.
My 2 cents..
I have a 40" 1080p TV and I can't tell the difference between 720p & 1080i (via xBox 360) at all and I am a total graphics whore.
On the other hand, I do play PC games on the TV often, and I can tell you there is a HUGE difference between 720p and native 1080p support. Just last night, I played Stranglehold in 720p, which looks basically identical to the xbox version of the game, and then in 1080p and the difference is very obvious.
THe problem is that my PC can't always output acceptableframerates at 1080p, so I have to downgrade ot 720p.
DOes the PS3 have native 1080p support or is it just upscaled? The xbox doesn't have native support for 1080p for any games I have played.
