I don't think many games get it right, but one movie I think that nailed it was "Letters from Iwo Jima"

Homeworld, or FF1. Those endings felt so right. Homeworld made me feel as if the journey was finally over, and FF1's scrolling words and epic music probably gave me just as much closure as MGS3 (which is an honorable mention)

Seriously, has anyone here played Homeworld? It's an old AAA game, from 1999 or 2000. It's pretty hard to find in stores since it's so old, but you can get it other ways. Play it now.

MGO. If Gears of War could stop being such a close combat multiplayer experience with the shotguns and perhaps have a bit more medium range gunfights, It'd be much better for me.

Well I guess you got dissapointed that it isn't but instead you're getting an RPG with a unique combat system and great graphics so it's ok.

organic_machine

Fallout 3 is nowhere close to an RPG. It's an action/adventure game wearing a light jacket that says "RPG" on it.

Agreed, and the combat system is with the body part aiming is the same exact thing as it was in Fallout 2, but instead of turnbased combat it's a real-time fps. Unique wouldn't be the right word.

It looks okay, but they shouldn't have taken the Fallout name. It's not that change is bad, it's that they are taking games that had there own unique style and changing it into something that's already been played a few too many times. I mean, seriously, this isn't a change of gameplay, it's a change of setting for the same game series we've been playing for years now: Elder Scrolls.

[QUOTE="sdfsdaf"]This topic has made me come to the conclusion that there are no "casual" or "hardcore" games. Instead, there are "casual" and "hardcore" players of certain games. One cannot be hardcore all around. As one may be a hardcore Starcraft player, but a casual Madden player.hakanakumono

I guess then sony games generally seem to have depth and nintendo games generally don't.

Does that work better?

Just because you remove the names of the categories doesn't mean the differences aren't there.

Well, considering that the term "hardcore" is subjective, yes, that does work better.

Halo or Grand Theft Auto

I played them after everyone called them godly. I'd say it's like expecting a $174 burger and instead getting a Big Mac. It made both games that much worse for me (they were both still decent, though)
