[QUOTE="-Antisocial-"]did the srticle said "sony needs to rip off xbox live"??? YesI'm also a bit shocked. Not sure what else I'm feeling at the moment; mixed reactions. Still some effort has been put into the article. Even if it's not taken down, some parts really need to be edited. Way too blunt and/or unjustified. Especially on the Home service which is still not out yet so no one knows how it works in practice, yet is being criticised on. I found "Sony needs to rip off Xbox Live" to be really offensive.
Edit: As the internet doesn't portray tone very well, I'm not bashing GS at all. I am just expressing concern about the article.

"If the Xbox 360 and Gears of War didn't exist, the PlayStation 3 would be sold out everywhere; thus, we would all be happily playing Resistance: Fall of Man and marveling over the sweat in Fight Night Round 3"
"Sony may have lost a few exclusives because of the PS3's slow start, but those games will still appear on the PS3, even if they're also going to be on the Xbox 360."
"Now that Nintendo and Microsoft are both presenting a serious challenge to thePlayStation's market dominance, we're watching one PS3 exclusive after another go multiplatform, which is not providing many satisfied 360 owners with a compelling incentive to pick up a PS3."
"Unfortunately, for every Resistance there are games like Tekken and Virtua Fighter 5, which have no online play whatsoever. Even the games that do have online play are often missing features that are taken for granted on the Xbox 360."
"Basically, Sony needs to rip off Xbox Live. If Sony can do that, then it will at least make the decision to purchase an Xbox 360 game versus a PlayStation 3 game a little less one-sided."
"With the Xbox 360 still retailing at about £279, narrowing the price gap would present the consumer with a genuine choice. PlayStation 3 for £325? I'd have my preorder in already."
"Offering a new experience is how Nintendo sold me on the Wii controller and what Microsoft has done with points on the Xbox 360."
So basically GameSpot likes to mention Xbox 360 when it's to praise it but not when it's to criticize it?
Never had the problem, I think its just you seeking reasons to buy the ps3. Doomlike_MitcI already own a PS3.
In Lost Planet, rumble is the sum of all evils. I was fighting a boss in Lost Planet for around 6-10 minutes, it killed me so I had to restart. But anyway I was in a mech with dual machine guns. Holding down the triggers non-stop and all the while rumble was sending shockwaves through my tendons. After that boss, I just couldn't play anymore. So this next time I started up Lost Planet I turned off rumble, and I haven't looked back since. My once numb tendons have thanked me, and I enjoy the game a lot more. It's no longer uncomfortable to play the game. And it doesn't feel like I'm missing a damn thing.
This was just one example, but there are many many more. Rumble can be nice, and it can be completely stupid. I'd have to say these days it's more stupid than nice. Back when rumble first came out developers really took the time to make it work. Nowadays it just seems to be, let's make sure players know they're firing their basic weapon.
So sayeth me.
