It's A Wondeful Lie

Okay, this is a short one. But, did you know, it's December?! Seriously, this year has gone by so freakin' quick! I hate this time of the year for many reasons, but also because all of the shows are off the air. Except, reality shows. (Cough) MTV. Oh, I can't wait for the new season of The Real World. It's on the same day as Friday Night Lights, but I think I can figure something out. The cast seems...interesting. Told you it was short.

Tegan and Sara + The Cure + One Tree Hill (More like, Mark Schwahn) + 90210 + GG

So, I haven't blogged in a while. Sorry. Anyway, I've started to listen to Tegan and Sara, and they've become like my all time favorite duo. I've heard some of their songs, but when I actually sat down to listen to them...It was a different experience. Speaking of listening to new music,or old (however you look at,) I've started to listen to The Cure, too. They're extremely depressive, but their music is just...WOW! It just sticks in your head, like those annoying jingle-commercials, except not so much annoying. I mean, I listened to "Apart," and I was just sitting there for 6 minutes totally zoned out. I just thought I'd tell you.

So what's going on with One Tree Hill? I hope it ends after this season! Seriously! It's just at that point. That point where you want to turn off your tv and hope that it's off when you turn it back on. "You Have To Be Joking (Autopsy of the Devil's Brain)" was a deal breaker. I was like, "Oh, Come ON!" The show is just going down the drain! And Mark Schwahn! I was reading this interview he had did a while back, he was just so ego-centric. I mean, he's like, "The network owes it to the fans." Sure, they do. But he's always talking about how lucky he is that the show got picked up, and I was just ripping at the seams. He's so full of himself. I hate watching interviews...The guy just bugs me!

90210 is back in like, 2-and-a-half-weeks.
South of Nowhere is over.

And, Georginia is coming back to Gossip Girl! Great.

South Of Nowhere + Degrassi + 90210 + Kath/Kim + Interactive

So, South Of Nowhere returned yesterday! It may not sound too big, but to me it is. The episode was pretty good, but The-N shouldn't had made us wait a year for it! I'm surprised, that they changed Aiden's little credit thing. I mean, come on, if you're going to change his you might as well change the whole thing. For some reason, I was also dying to see the credits. Why? I have no idea. Anyway, Kyla's whole little relationship she has going on is getting annoying to an extreme. She needs to cut that loose or something! She's going to ruin everything for Ashley, and from the looks of it, she's about to do just that. And, Lily Zee? Really? She's just -- irrelevant! Gosh! By the way, why did they bring Spashley together? They're going to rip those two apart again! I seriously wonder what goes through these writers brains. A bunch of dingbats! And, I don't know if this means anything, but I found an article on SaveSpashley.com and they interviewed Thomas W. Lynch, and he said that SoN may not be over just yet. Hope? I don't know. According to The-N, no cloud that hovers over that building has a silver lining.

Degrassi. Wow. Not, wow as in "good", but wow as in "what the hell is going on?!" First, they screwed up the credits with that crappy song, and they coverted back to that childish handwriting, and all of those cheese-tastic poses. I liked the new characters, but not the episode. Mia and the T-Bomez (or whatever) guy was bound to happen. I figured she'd sink that low sooner or later. Anyway, I love Sav's little sister and her one-liner: "Dearest Anya, I miss you when you're gone"ya." I also like Leah, and the new roommate. Other than that, the new freshmen are annoying. I'm glad that the original cast left the show, because it's turning into a joke now. Next week's episode looks horrible, and they're recycling storylines. End the show, it's getting tired.

90210 was really good. I was practically screaming at my TV for Adrianna to come clean. I was also screaming for Annie to quit trying to get with Ethan, and vice versa. Those two are heading for limbo-land of relationships. Bad combo. I liked Silver's reference to her favorite color being black, and she made Dixon blush! Ha, c.lassic. Although, her choice in movies was a little out there. The new chick, the undercover one, I knew there was something off about her. She just had that -- look. I'm highly upset with Annie's dad though, I mean, come on, really? You need to hire a undercover cop to bust the school's drug dealers? Do it yourself. I was disappointed by Naomi taking the fall for Adrianna's drug problems. And Adrianna's mother was also making me mad. Gosh, why do we have to wait three weeks for a new episode?!

There's a new show on NBC called "Kath & Kim." Molly Shannon and Selma Blair are in it. Selma plays Kim, the daughter of Kath. They're the picture-esque trailer park family, except they don't live in a trailer. They just dress like it. Anyway, Kim comes home after her and her new husband have a fight over Applebee's (his words are "We can't eat there everyday, we're not millionaires.") Her mother tries to get her to go back to stay with him because she has a new romance. Well, it comes down to this scene where they're in the mall. Kim buys a sandwhich and Kath says she can't because she can't cheat on her boyfriend (who owns a sandwhich shop in the mall, too.) Kim shows her the sandwhich, and Kath buys one. Her boyfriend sees her and she's shocked and runs around the mall screaming: "It's not what it looks like!" (Good laughs) Then, they make up in this department store while Whitney Houston is playing over the sound system. He proposes and they continue to try to get Kim to go back to her husband. She agrees until he shows up with a dog. She says it's either her or the dog, he chooses the dog and the divorce is going to fall through. The show was really good!

Okay, so I'm still writing and, I'm setting this thing up. It's called: Get Interactive. So, basically, I'm setting up MySpace profiles for all the charecters, blogs for others, and websites for the rest. So, instead of getting to know the charecters through the story, you can learn more about them through this. It'll be interesting and different.

R.I.P. South Of Nowhere

R.I.P. South Of Nowhere

This blog is dedicated to one of my favorite shows: South Of Nowhere.
The show is ending this fall after 3 years, 3 seasons, and 40 episodes.
So in honor of the show, I am dedicating this blog to the cast and crew
that brought one of the best shows to television!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Think You Have It All Figured Out...

It was near Fall of 2005. I had been a huge fan of Degrassi, and watched The-n constantly. So
I had been seeing these promos for this new show called South Of Nowhere. I remember
thinking this show was going to be okay, the promos mainly consisted of Chris Hunter smacking his
cereal. I wasn't sold on it.

Well, November 4th had finally come. I waited for a brand-new episode of Degrassi. It came, I saw.
Then it was time for South Of Nowhere. I decided to tune in to it. I liked the opening and then I
liked the entire episode! I was sure that this was going to be a good show, I didn't think anything
too big would happen.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

...Think Again

Well, I was wrong. The episodes that played out in the first season were
so much better than I'd expected. All I thought was going to happen was
a few kisses here and there, but no. I got earthquakes, people being robbed
and so much more.

Tempature's Rising...

For 8 months I waited for the second season premiere. I had forgotten about Degrassi,
I could actually care less about who Paige slept with that week. I cared more about
who was breaking up Spashley. It was the mother that season, unfortuantely! For 13 weeks, I was
entertained by my new favorite show and cast. The shocking finale had made me mad that
it wasn't returning to 2009 - possible. Then, the re-runs would air, and it made me angrier.
Well, I should have enjoyed them, because now the show's ending.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's Not Where You've Been

Finally, August 10th came! I tuned in to see the outcome of the shooting. I was disappointed
with how it was handled. But, I was glad that the show was back. As the 8 weeks past, I was
disappointed with the entire first half of the season. I knew the show could've done better.
But, it was too late. It was getting cancelled. Stupid The-N!

So now, I just had to wait for the final episodes to premiere. No one did anything to try to save it.
No one did anything, until about Spring. I appreciated that someone saw how great this show was
other than me. I tried my best to promote the site, but as cancellations go -- there was nothing
we could do. The-N said they appreciated our efforts, but it was time for the show to end. Whatever!

It's Where You're Going...

Now, the final 8 episodes are just about a few days away. I'm glad to see that the fans have responded
by changing their icons and writing about their first time watching the show and how much it has
changed their lives. It's a great show! It's sad to see it go, but all good things have to come to
an end. So I just want to thank the cast and crew and partially The-N for bringing a great
show into our houses.

Okay, I have an issue with the Jonas Brothers, and their fans! So, I was watching an old episode of Chelsea Lately (Awesome show), and she made one harmless segment that poked fun at them. Sure, she made fun of their hair, and pulled off one of their purity rings, and straddled one of them (Her Jo Bros' were actors). But still, she got the annoying wrath of their fans. Some said she was disrespectful, some said she could go die in a 'Whole' (yes, they spelled it wrong), and some sent her death threats. First, she's just doing her g**damn job! It's not like she's going to literally waste her time making fun of those pathetic "musicians". Her staff writes the jokes, she makes them come to life. So why on earth are there fans getting so uptight about it?! Why are you sending her hate mail? If anything it should be going to her staff and not her! They should remove the sticks from their a**es and realize that they're not worth freaking out over! The Jonas Brothers said that they have the best fans in the world. Really? So, with them being Christian and all, they support their fans sending hate mail out to someone who's just doing their job? Now, some might say that I'm contradicting myself, but I'm not. I don't dislike them because they're musicians, I dislike them because they are just plain annoying! They are more annoying than Maria Menonous' laugh! Ooh you have purity rings! Who cares? Not all of their fans are as die hard as most, but I can respecitvely say that their loony-tune fans go die in a hole! And, I spelled it write! The parody is below, and so is the video of her responding.

Gossip Who?

Now, I know in the past I promised make-shift scripts and stories, but the only problem with those was that I was just too lazy to finish them. Honestly, I could pull out One Tree Dead and all you would see is 30-35 pages of a bunch of witty language and lots of screaming. And, then the GG script that got about 19 pages. Well, scrap all of those because now I have something will make most say "Gossip Who?". Well, I was bored and so I decided to bust out the trusty iPod and pull out a good book. I was reading it and I wondered what if I wrote something like this. And, then, I did -- Sort of. Let's just get to the bottom of things: I'm writing a very Gossip Girl-esque type book-esque. And I promise I will finish this one because I can't stop writing it. Granted I re-wrote the first four pages 10 or so times, but whatever!

essential deets:

Charecters: Sophia Reid, Taylor Cartwright, Autumn McClay, William Levine, Pierce Levine, Emily Davis, Ava Reyes and there some more, but I just started so they're gradually coming.

Plot: Sophia leaves Manhattan to return to her hometown of Los Angeles, but not everyone wants her back -- Wait, no one wants her back. (It's more interesting than it sounds, trust me) There's a lot more to the story but that's the basic plot.

Notes: Um, it's funny. In my opinion, if you know me the way the charecters talk is the same way I would. For example, one of the charecters tells the other they have the attention span of a crack baby, or another says that no one would be interested in her because sleaze went out last season.

Anyway, I'm off to write. iPod's always work good in situations like this.

Degrassi: Season 8 (New)

8.04 - I Write Sins, Not Tragedies

A Plot: With Darcy gone, Peter has been isolating himself. Both at school and in the dating department. But when he gets paired up with Mia for a c.lass assignment, possible sparks are set off. With Darcy still in his heart and with Lucas still in Mia's heart they both decide to not act on their impulses, they eventually decide to not work together anymore and ask to be paired up with other students. Mia is paired up with a girl named Sophia, who could care less about the assignment and would rather get to know Mia. Mia vents to Sophia about her Peter problem, Sophia puts the answer out bluntly: Go after him. Mia decides to take the advice and waits out the end out of c.lass. Finally, arriving at his house she knocks on the door, which happens to be open. She walks in and into the living room. As soon as she turns the corner she finds Peter and Darcy...making out.

B Plot: Sav wants to take his relationship with Anya to the next level. Anya however doesn't. With Holly J. out of the picture Anya realizes she has no one to talk to. Sav gets invited to a party hosted by Danny and Derek, and hopes by the end of the night Anya will change her mind. Both feeling extremely nervous as the party begins, Anya decides to avoid Sav while Sav pursues Anya. Later on, Anya gets fed up with Sav popping up at every corner, so she decides to go for a walk, but Sav spots her leaving. He asks her to go upstairs, she says no which leads to an all out fallout. Anya rushes out and goes for her walk. As the night goes on, Anya finds herself in the middle of nowhere. A car comes out of the shadows and a violent struggle with a stranger occurs. Anya is beaten and thrown in the back of the car. The car drives off into the night...

8.05 - Explosions In The Sky

A Plot: Mia feels like she can never show her face around school again, well at least around Peter. She can't even be in the same c.lass as him and begins to ditch. After school, she gets home and finds Darcy sitting in front of her door. Darcy asks if there is anything going on between her and Peter. Mia answers "No", and slams the door in her face. If that wasn't bad enough, she begins to receive calls from Peter, and then she receives texts. Not replying, she also gets a visit from Peter. He tells her that what she was an accident. But, Mia doesn't want to hear it. Meanwhile, Darcy decides to videotape her planned "encounter" with Peter, but before that happens Peter tells her to leave. Mad as hell, she doesn't tell Peter about the camera. Mia who feels bad for not listening to Peter goes to his house, and after getting a few words out, they get their tension out...in front of the camera...

B Plot: Anya wakes up at the site of the house party. Clothes are ripped, minor cuts cover her arms, and she feels sore. She decides to get the hell out of there before Danny and Derek wake. Upon arriving home, she finally sees herself in the mirror. She looks like Brooke Davis (well, not that bad). Trying to piece together the night she soon realizes that she wasn't only beaten, but she was raped. Like Darcy, she closes herself inside her house. Not letting a single soul know what had happened the night before.

8.06 - I Taught Myself How to Grow Old

A Plot: Liberty has been so busy getting used to college life, that she has forgotten her birthday is a few days away. Her male roommate, James sets up a get-together at the local pub. But, with Manny feeling down about Emma and with Emma absentee, they realize they're the only ones in the partying mood. With two to go, they arrive at the pub. Hats, cake, dixie cups are awaiting them. Liberty and James feel awkward at first, but by the end of the night they dig into a deep conversation. As usual, Liberty falls for him. But, James makes it clear that he wants to stay single. Liberty decides to pursue him anyway. After an awkward "Friend-Hang", James realizes what's going on. In a matter of seconds he puts Liberty's dream down for a dirt nap...Happy Birthday Liberty.

B Plot: Holly J. feels like she's disconnected herself from the alpha-male and decides to go after someone new. She meets Johnny. He's not exactly her type, but she feels that he'll do for now. She soon begins to feel that maybe he wants more from her and decides to sleep with him. After a rough night, she still feels that he wants more. So, she decides to do whatever she thinks interests him. Still, no response. Taking one more chance on him, she goes over to his place for a night. As she waits for him to get out of the shower, she knocks over a box. Upside down pictures fall on the floor. She kneels down to pick them up and turns them over to find Anya's horrified face plastered on them...

8.07 - How Strong Do You Think I Am

A Plot: Manny decides to take charge of the situation that she's in. She goes to Emma and demands answers, but what she finds is Emma's stuff thrown all over the sorority house. She panics and begins to think Stassi has done something to Emma, but Manny is wrong again. Emma comes walking down the stairs, bruises on her arms, and peeling of the skin. Manny's worst fears have come to play, Emma is a druggie, all thanks to Stassi. Emma looks pale and is sweating beyond belief. Some might say she could be the poster child for a anti-meth project. Manny wants to know what happened. Emma tells her that Stassi began to sell her clothes and possesions for cocaine and heroine. Manny knows that Emma is hooked on the drug(s), and demands to know how it started. Emma tells her the story, and ends it saying that Stassi has threatened her. If she told anyone about the drugs, she would go after her family. Emma makes Manny promise not to tell.

B Plot: Jane isn't exactly the girliest of all girls. So, she tries out for the football team. She makes the team and is out-casted by the team, and named the school's Dyke She tries to brush off the rumors, and goes to see Spinner hoping he can cheer her up. He has gotten word of her decision to join the team, and rejects it, as does he reject her pass to get back with him. She feels like no one is there for her and shows up at a practice upset. The guys on the team begin to tease her and then beat her. Jane runs to get help, but the coach dismisses her accusation. Jane runs to tell spinner who thinks it's a cheap attempt to get his attention. He soon realizes that she's serious. They both go and demand help from the principal and cops. They tell them they can't do much. Jane is soon faced with two decisions: Quit the team, Or suck it up and deal with what happened. She decides to take option two which angers Spinner. He tells her he can't be with her if she lets something like that go. He leaves her standing alone in the hall...

8.08 - Help Me Make It Through The Night

A Plot: Manny strives to help Emma get out of her living conditions. She knows the consequences of what could happened, but realizes her friend's life is at stake. Manny tells Emma that she will get her out, and the druggie upstairs overhears that line slip. Manny heads home and packs some stuff to give to Emma, but once she arrives back at the house she comes face to face with Stassi. Stassi asks Manny why she's there and Manny explains. The other girls bring Emma down and ask if she told Manny anything. Emma denies that she said anything on the spot. Stassi asks Manny to leave, and warns her that if she comes back there will be hell to pay. Manny leaves with her bag in hand and turns back to see Emma's eyes fill with pain. But like a good friend she doesn't take that for an answer and plans to return in the night hours. She follows through, but once she gets to the house she finds it empty. No one to be found, nothing to be found except a note lying in the middle of the living room that reads: "Soon...".

B Plot: Holly J. knows about Anya's rape. She goes to her wanting to help. Of course, Anya wants to know who told her, but Holly J. doesn't tell her. Instead, she tells her she knows who raped her. Anya feels that she's lying, and just wants to humilate her. Holly J. desperately tries to get through her, but Anya doesn't let her in. Holly J. enlists the help of Sav who is horrified to learn about the incident. Soon the story of Anya's rape gets out, Anya jumps to conclusions and blames Holly J. After that story gets out so does something else, Peter and Mia's video gets out...

8.09 - For Blue Skies

A Plot: Mia and Peter are determined to find out who released their home movie. But, their search causes their personalites to clash which sends them in different directions. Of course, they still try to get down to the bottom of things, but with their relationship hanging on by a thread they begin to focus on other things. Which lets the distributor slip through the fingers. As most things go, the person who released the tape is already in their lives.

B Plot: Holly J. tries to tell Anya she didn't tell anyone about the rape. Anya feels insecure to let Holly J. back in, but accepts her. Meanwhile, Holly J. wants Anya to tell about her rape, and also she wants her to confront the guy who did it. Little does Anya know that Holly has already gotten friendly with him. Elsewhere, Sav is getting blamed for the rape due to the fact he was rushing things. Forecast calls "For Blue Skies".

Skins (New)

Whoa, haven't blogged in a while. Anyway, so I happened to be flipping through the channels one night, and just happen to land on BBC America. The show that was playing seemed oddly familiar. I looked at the guide and it was a show called Skins. I knew i had heard of it and decided to watch it. Jaw-Drop. That was my first reaction after seeing a naked person on primetime television, then there's more naked-ness and more jaw-drop. This was primetime television, like the same time Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill are on. No editing. I know FX has shows where S--T and a lot of other suggestive words are let go loose, but this show was seeping with cussing. And not to mention it is an international show, so I don't know how things operate in other countries. So after getting past all of that it pulled me in, like it had candy or something. Candy with naked people on it that is. Anyway, I was pulled into this show and then it was over. After that episode I knew why everyone liked it. I was kinda upset that it was barely airing in the US, but we get to see the second season after the first ends! It is very much like Degrassi but imagine it with more angst. I didn't like the reviews it got though; for example, "Skins goes to places that would make those jaded Gossip Girl brats blush." It's good but not that good.
