Lol not a chance.

Crossel777
Not a chance that it will record video or record at 720p? It should be able to record video (if Sony decides to allow it).

[QUOTE="riariases"]Alright, so OLED screens are both good and bad. They offer more vivid colours and they also reduce battery usage because they offer internal lighting without the need for a backlight, but they also have a lower life expectancy. They die in approx. 5 years while LCD screens last up to approx. 15 years. but that 5 years means 5 years running, as in 1825 days, or 43 800 hours.Filthybastrd

So no real disadvantage? Which would explain why those screens are the very best in mobile phones?

Edit: Also, what about the GPUs? Providing specs are fine but it says nothing about actual performance... Try comparing equal Ati and Nvidia boards by specs alone...

Check out my post above. 134 M polygons/s for Vita. 15.3 M polygons/s for 3DS.

Worse GPU (200MHz SGX543MP4+)

That is most definitely not true.

Come on, yes it is. I provided proof. You just made a statement based upon no facts and expect people to believe you.

PlayStation Vita SGX543MP4 (four cores) 134M polygons/s, fill rates in excess of 4Gpixels/sec @200 MHz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PowerVR_products#Series5XT_.28SGXMP.29 Clock 200 MHz [7](max. clock frequency 400 MHz @65 nm[2]) pixel performance: 800 Mpixel/s[7] (400 Mpixel/s @100 MHz[2])(1600 Mpixel/s@400 MHZ) vertex performance: 15.3 Mpolygon/s[7] (40Mtriangle/s @100 MHz[2])(160Mtriangle/s @400 MHz) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PICA200 134 M polygons/s for PS Vita vs 15.3 M polygons/s for the 3DS. This isn't everything and I may be misinterpreting some of it but I think its fair to say the PS Vita has the 3DS beat.

[QUOTE="iliatay"] The whole point of a handheld is to give a home console experience WHILE BEING HANDHELD. but I guess some dont like that...

amaneuvering

Actually they do like that. They had no problem with it on every Game Boy system and they have no problem buying the usual Nintendo franchises on DS and 3DS that you can get on home consoles. This is just the latest excuse people are using to downplay how awesome the Vita looks. I highly doubt even the people saying this crap actually believe what they're saying. "Vita is just a portable PS3" is the best people can come up with to downplay the Vita right now, even if the 3DS is full of nothing but ports right now and the only good games on the horizon are from franchises you can also get on consoles. Not to mention the fact Vita is getting original games that look great too. Personally my most anticipated launch title for Vita is Gravity. After seeing the 8 minute gameplay video of it I'm sold. Looks really original and cool.

I think it's called evolution. When handhelds first came out all we could reasonably expect was cut down versions of the same games we were getting on our home consoles. That's no longer the case and now that mobile gaming is finally discovering it's true strengths and unique potential I don't think it's enough just to give us a slightly under powered home console in a portable box.

Whatever you can do on a handheld, you can do on a console if the console manufactures wanted and the Wii U is a good proof of that. So the most important thing is bringing what the consoles are capable of to the system

One thing I'm hoping is that we would be able to listen to music while using the browser, I've always wanted to do that on the psp, though i don't use it as my primary browser, but i guess that will drain the power fast.

That is what should be on everyone's minds, battery life.

and luckily since its not using UMD's, battery life will be saved as flash cards are a lot more energy efficient.

Specs Frame rate: 120fps@320x240(QVGA), 60fps@640x480(VGA). Resolution: Up to 640x480(VGA). camera's work in low light enviroments perfectly fast framerates in order to enhance movement + more precise ar + scanning surroundings possible lesser data to transfer with games source: http://psvitaforum.com/threads/vita-camera.474/#post-3674 Which basically means its not made for recording movies, its made for augmenting games, etc which needs the very fast FPS (120) more than 720p or 1080p. I'm sure if Sony decided that 400 would have been a better price point we would have seen a better camera but this seems to have been made for games and only games.

Only game that would make me want a 3DS due to how much I enjoyed it on the N64 and I no longer have the game (think I even sold my WW pre-order set).

After how disappointing the Uncharted 3 was demo on the show...Sure I'll watch it

PhazonBlazer
Exactly what I'm thinking. The Uncharted level they chose was not a good choice.

When I look at Street Fighter 4 or the two Resident Evil games, I no longer doubt the graphics. Even if Vita's better, 3DS is good enough.

LovePotionNo9
For 2d fighting games, sure the 3DS will be powerful enough but theres no question the Vita blows the 3DS out of the water in terms of graphical capability.

[QUOTE="deadlyabdus123"]CALL OF DUTY a vita version of COD will more or less run like its hd console brothers, gamers and casuals will buy it up like moths to my protein shakes (but i drink it with the moths, it sickens me how weak people are), the 3ds is physically unable to play cod due to lack of analog nubs, it would be hard to play it. The 3ds is basically wii in terms of power and graphics, the vita is slightly less than PS3, dont get me wrong, I HATE and PUKE at handles, they anger me, i would never buy one, but COD will ensure VITA victory. Mario, stupid smash brothers, nothing will eclipse COD.

I would much rather have a Battlefield 3 Vita but I think both would play great and not be limited by the Vita.
