if you are running xp, go to the control panel and click on power options and set it to always on.
if you are running vista or 7, go to the same place and on the left click on change when the computer sleeps and then set it to never

Thanks mate, apparently a solid state drive would sort the issues but im sure theyare prone to vibration damage and they cost too much for me to experiment with =/

well, the subs i have in my car rattles things loose alot, so it could be possible
you could try using a working hdd and not use the system for a while
thats a pretty nice setup though
I am connected using a router that is connected to a modem. Im not sure about the fans they are connected through 4 pin connectors.

when it happens again, try plugging in directly to the modem
check and make sure all the pins are pushed in all the way
1. are you connected through a router or directly to a modem?
2. it could be the fans. are they connected directly to the motherboard or to the psu?
