@tenryuu_kantai Read the review and stop putting so much emphasis on the score. The score takes the whole experience into account, while you're looking for a specific portion of the experience. GameSpot can't just be like "Oh it's a 9.0 single-player but a 3.0 multiplayer", mostly because that's what the review basically says (you know, the words above the score).
@milkydude1 Not when the online is the biggest portion of the game. The single-player portions of the original Halos 1, 2, 3, etc. are all still playable on their respective consoles. However, their multiplayer components are dead (either literally, with the servers shut down, or just incredibly small amounts of players), and the whole appeal of the new games is to be able to access the fun of playing multiplayer again. Being unable to do that hurts the score a lot, as opposed to your rather.... interesting comparison to Metal Gear Solid. That game's multiplayer is incredibly tacked on.
GameSpot should definitely re-review the game or adjust the score once the matchmaking works. To be honest they probably should've waited until its multiplayer was working before reviewing it, as it stands the score means nothing. The actual content of the review is still very helpful, you might want to read that.
@Aaronp2k "30 fps = more power left towards graphics"
That's exactly what this guy's talking about. None of the current-gen consoles should have to sacrifice visual fidelity for 60 FPS. The fact that some games do just means the consoles are FAILING to offer the smooth 60 FPS both Sony and Microsoft would love to show off.
@jacquelineferre He means the fact that current consoles aren't running at 60 FPS is a failure for those consoles.
Look at it this way: would Sony or Microsoft be happier if they could have all their games run at 60 FPS? Of course. The fact that they have to settle for 30 FPS means they FAILED to reach the ideal goal of 60 FPS.
@force_user1975 Actually Minecraft is over 11 million on PC and around 6 million on Xbox, if I'm not mistaken with those numbers. They're not combined.
@platinumking320 But that's completely incorrect. The only reason Microsoft has a Store is because it wants an alternative to the App Store for the Windows Phone/Tablet (RT), and it just so happens to have PC support. It's essentially a bullet point to convince someone to buy their Windows phones.
The desktop version is always going to be open, it would be catastrophic if Microsoft tried to limit PC's. And they know that. Gabe is just acting paranoid so Valve can justify selling a "Steam PC", and while I'm not saying it's a bad business plan it's just plain naive to believe anything else.
@Butt_Chunx @MapRef41N93W What are you on? "I did not know that the majority... " &"I assumed by now any serious PC.... = "I like showing off and acting like I'm better than everyone else, and am just begging for someone to disagree in the comments so I can rage for a while."
Cut the crap and write what you mean, you don't have to speak like it's the Cold War.
