I had bought a 360 a year ago (noob pack), and then last summer bought a 20gb HD. I personally am glad to see the prices coming down to a more realistic range, so more people will buy, and more games will come out. Devs seem to really push games for the systems with huge customer bases, and I would hate to see the inferior Wii get all the titles due to its innovative motion controls.
I am not personally knocking the Wii, and I believe that soon you will see similar types of motion controls being made available for the 360/PS3 systems, as I am sure they are wanting to cash in on that cow. $199 for a 360, even if it is a noob system, is a heck of a deal for the technology you are getting, and I think this will really make Sony sweat. Heck, you might even see Nintendo starting to breathe hard as well (cue in the 70's porno soundtrack).
The Ps3 isnt dead yet nor will it be for a while

The PS3 may not be dead, but with the way things are going for Sony (including laying off a whole bunch of their American workers because of the slow success of the PS3), the price of $199 for a 360 certainly won't help it. Further, with the Xbox 360 being so much easier to develop for (DirectX versus the Cell), game makers will likely flock to the 360.
You heard right... Microsoft is considering cutting the price of their next gen system by $100, to compete more with the Wii, and to put the nails in the coffin of the PS3...

[QUOTE="MAXimumGTR"]First of all,let me tell you that i am not too good on enligsh,so you may encounter some spelling mistakes.
First Reason+Opinion why in this 2007 it is more worth to modify PC with your money than getting the PS3 is because the PS3 cost is much more Expensive than the other Consoles.
Second Reason+Opinion why in this 2007 it is more worth to modify PC with your money than getting the PS3 is because DirectX10 is gonna come out to the PC in this 2007.Even the Consoles is not having DirectX,the DirectX10 PC game graphic comparison is much more better than the Console Version.
Third Reason+Opinion why in this 2007 it is more worth to modify PC with your money than getting the PS3 is because the PS3 cost.It is more better to get some DirectX10 video Card like the 8800GTX,because with that your graphic performance is gonna be better than the PS3.
Most of all Reason+Opinion why in this 2007 it is more worth to modify PC with your money than getting the PS3 is because the game. The new game/the game after the middle of 2007 has a little chance to come out to the console, and if even the game is come out,it's gonna be verry downgrading. But,the Console game has a big chance of coming out to the PC.

I don't own a PS3 and frankly do not like Sony. With that in mind,
1) PS3 cost as much as 1 8800 GTX. With this money you get an entire unit when put toward a PS3. With a PC a person may need an updated CPU/Ram/HDD/Motherboard/Operating System exc.
2) I will reserve all judgement on Direct X 10 until it is here and optimized. Gaming right now under the requirements for Direct X 10 is a casual gamers nightmare. People complaining about console backwards compatibility, imagine the shock of many PC gamers that grabbed CnC3 and could not get it to work on Vista 64. (It rocked on mine easy. I am not casual though.)
3) Again Price. A person will need 2 times as much money invested in a PC to get the none bottleneck performance of a 8800 card. PS3 has a Blu Ray player, and as far as gaming you could expect games more consistantly, which is what the 8800 is all about.
Finally, don't talk about games downgrading. The trend of PC Developers not optimizing their games is here in full swing. Nothing is more pathetic then getting a new game you need a $500 GPU just to out muscle the bs code.
Again, I do not own a PS3 and can not stand Sony. I have a 360 and this system is worth the investment although I don't play mine too much.
Well written reasons above. I always enjoy articles that are articulate, and actually make sense to read. The English language seemingly gets trashed in most forum discussions
There are some points I agree with and disagree with. While you bring up some interesting thoughts, (especially point #2, & #4), the advantages to going the PC route far outway the negatives. Like you, I am not a Sony fanboy, do not own anything related to Sony gaming products. Right now, there is really nothing to judge DX10 against (minus the occasional screenshot of Crysis... I sure do hope we get more than ONE game that utilized DX10 during this year!!!), and yes, the price of DX10 cards are high right now (if you go with the 640mb GTS or the 768mb GTX cards). But, the prices have come down some, and you can get a decent DX10 320mb 8800GTS card now for at or a little under $300. Further, you are correct that the constant trend is to upgrade. I have had my current machine now for 2 1/2 years, only upgrading the video card ($220 purchase), and buying more memory ($50 purchase). I just bought STALKER yesterday, can play it at 1600x1200 resolution, with everything maxed out, and runs about 40fps. I can also run Oblivion maxed out without any problems, at that same resolution. So, whilst you need to upgrade, you can do it selectively, and in the long run you do not spend all THAT much more money than you would on a mega-high priced console.
That said, I will continue to slowly upgrade my PC as time and $$$ allows. I will wait on the upgrade to Vista until some SUBSTANTIAL patching comes out for it (like SP1). I will wait on the upgrade to a DX10 card until there is some competition from the ATI segment, and there is a REAL reason beyond Crysis to buy one (I own a X1900XT 512mb card right now, and it plays everything I throw at it FLAWLESSLY). My next upgrade will probably come at the end of April, after the next big round of CPU price cuts coming in 2-3 weeks (haven't decided whether to go with a AMD X2 5600 or go with a Core2Duo E6600).
